That was an awe-inspiring flight, Adam. You showcased its STOL capabilities and pointed out why it's such a great plane. You are always top-notch with your reviews. nobody does it better than the Model AV8R team. I put a cheap 20-dollar Hobbywing Skywalker 50a V2 ESC with built-in 5A switch mode BEC, APC 11x3.8 SF Prop, and 4s 2700mah 60c Zippy Compact 16- dollars. It is now a crazy animal of a STOL plane that hovers with unlimited vertical. I love the King Fisher. It is a great stock but even better with the cheap 36-dollar power upgrade. You can't use the stock prop as it draws too many amps for the motor. My daughter now flies it more than me she claimed ownership after trying it. lol. I need to get another one. You are right. It is a plane that is passed up by many. It deserves a spot in everyone's hangar.

Definitely is a great plane, especially on a 4 cell setup. The rear-mounted water rudder looks goofy and is prone to oscillation at high speeds, but otherwise flies pretty damned well.

I think it’s one of the FPV platforms out there. A little short coupled on the ground makes it dance on the ground under fpv but a lil rudder attention and it’s good. And fully aerobatic fpv capabilities is really fun.

Been waiting all day to watch this one. My favorite stol planes i have. Ive had mine for 2 years and beat the crap out of it. This one just flys great for me. Tough choice between the FMS Kingfisher and the Arrows Bigfoot. I favor the looks of the Bigfoot but the included floats and sale price of the Kingfisher make it hard to pass by.

bigfoot is more arobatic, and has lights, no giro , kingfisher does better in knife edge , kingfisher is very noisy , bigfoot is less noisy , I fly them both on 4s with 1 inch less prop diameter.

They are probably both good choices, but yeah, for the price the Kingfisher is hard to beat.

Hey man, glad you found us! Thanks for watching. The Quick Look/Fun Flight episodes are streamlined reviews basically, and we don't do a full set up info page...but we do talk about our set up and show you our flap settings in our transmitter. That starts at 03:57 in this one. It requires a good bit of down elevator compensation with full flaps. Enjoy your Kingfisher...great airplane.

Another great review, thank you! In comparing the kingfisher to the Durafly tundra V3. Just based on flight characteristics and stability what would you think the better choice would be?

Thanks! Tundra V3 has more power (Its 4s and 3s) so that makes it a bit more capable. It also has lights. That said, as a general rule parts availability is better with FMS. Kingfisher has more gear options.

Congrats! Yep, you can increase the throw, and also adding a bit of rudder when you do a roll gets it around faster.

Right now man...the NX7e + is the best deal in transmitters out there in my opinion. 14 channels, voice, forward programming, and AS3X+ compatible. $300. Worth every penny and you can fly all the latest planes with it.
