I managed to add some little fishing weights to the axles to add some weight. Got brass portal covers, aluminium shocks, injora brass wheels and swamp claw tyres on brass spacers. The stance is so much wider . Great video man.

Again: great review, love the horn hack 🎉 You don‘t have to swop the servo, just use an other horn. Fairrc has brass ones and it works great with any brass or aluminum steering link. Have done this to all my FCX24 even the Smashers and my black K5 which has a weight of about 850g

I’m just the type that if I take apart the steering I’m going to go ahead an upgrade the servo because it’s too weak for me anyway 😆

@@2fmrc looking forward to see what kind of servo you are going to use. I am quite happy with the stock FCX24 servo but if there is an affordable alternative in case of a brake down I would of course upgrade it.

In a way I'm glad the trx4m is so popular to support the model but I've never been 100% and its become a real money pit! I know people rave on about apparent quality over non USDM brands like the fcx18. In my eyes this looks like it's the one I've been chasing for all along! I won't be surprised to see Axial join the 18th segment soon! Great vid, now to decide if I want to sell my never run 4m with £00s of upgrade parts!

I’ve been running mine with just some aftermarket wheels and tires with brass rings in it and took the front bumper off. It is a really amazing little truck. So stoked to have one.

I ordered a set of shock keys that somebody can’t think of their name right now has made for this rig thought I would check them out. Yeah first thing I did those screws I put them in the back, and put my go to tires and mofo RC super deep dish rims She is looking sweet

What kind of nut driver are you using to tighten down the aftermarket injora wheels onto the axles? Are you using a different style of nut? The nut drivers that i have are too big. First timer with the mini crawlers. Thanks for any help!

New wheels/tires look great, especially with the lowered body. What tire size did you have on the new wheels? No rubbing?

They are actually about the same size as stock tires. The Swampers measure about 55mm. I lowered the body and still don’t get much rubbing at all. bit.ly/456DKcp

I've had some fully upgraded FCX24 axles just sitting there for a while when I found out the gearing was all wrong for an scx24, ordered a dementor to build with FCX24 axles but now with this release im having to rethink my plans... DementorV2 with fcx24 axles that might not crawl well or this new Landcruiser....

Would you buy fully brass axles or are those outer weights enough you think? Also any preferences on portal full brass fcx24 axles you recommend?

I honestly stay away from brass or aluminum axle housings. Usually try to just add some brass on the knuckles and portal covers. The plastic just slides better imo so I prefer to run all plastic when I can. I’m just running inner and outer portal covers on this and it’s been amazing.

Hey Matt considering the scale aspect of this rc do you think with what you have done if you kept the stock tires it would still perform well? I love the look of these tires, I mean if you had kept the whole thing stock and only changed the tires would it make that much of a difference?

@@prob6999 maybe they were different back 4 months ago. But the tire rubber was firm, not conducive to gripping much of any texture. The wheels are plastic beadlocks though, so weight them and use em again.

Is there a way to get the tires tucked under the fenders, or can you not narrow the track width that far

I don’t think you can get any more narrow. The portals are just much wider than the original axles. Maybe a larger wheel like a 1.2 with a deep offset hex would fit over the portals and tuck in a bit more but I’d say it would be hard to get the perfect setup.

I'm surprised how this rig crawls with its heavy hard body, now it has the wheel weights, the lowered suspension and the new tires. I remember the video you've made earlier about the Chevy Mc Cue. That poor rig did its best to climb but struggled a lot to survive on your mountain. This one dances on with ease. Thank you for this test. Another FMS is on the way, heading my home.😊
