please keep this series going. i’m currently trying to find aftermarket support for the fms hilux
@rccustomcreations Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your interest in this series. I have not given up on this build. I am having a hard time finding a machinist that is not too busy to take my work on, though... i did reach out to another machinist today to get a quote but have yet to hear back...i am sure monday ill hear back from them . The fms hilux uses the same parts that the fms k10 uses . So keep that in mind. Also keep in mind that there's very little aftermarket parts for these trucks... i do not understand why that is.

I applaud you Sir! Thank you for making this video. This is the poster picture of how how to video should be done! I bet I looked on KZbin for over an hour for a video that showed how to take these axles apart. Or the rear axle in caps anyway. I found your video about 10 minutes too late though. As I am still looking for the one end that flew off to oblivion. How the bushing landed in front of Maine I could not tell you LOL. I bought two of the K 10s during the 2023 Christmas season from FMS since they had such a great deal on them. I already had a glacier in two of the high lux trucks. One difference that I think I have discovered between the high lux and the K10 is that the hot lux has metal links, if I am wrong I apologize. So assuming the K10 is the only one with plastic links I was very disappointed. Anyway, thank you so much for the great how to video, please make more I am now subscribe to your channel and I will be checking out the rest of your content. Please forgive any misspelled words or out of context words. I I have to use speech to text to write.

Thatk you very much for the comment and taking the time to check out my channel. Extra thanks for leaving feedback on what itbis that you are looking for in a video. Very rarley, do i get feedback on what it is that people look for in a video so im left to trh and guess most of the time or wing it lol. In regards to fjnding my video late , the saying goes like this " better late then never " did you find your bushing ? If not , conveniently i am in saint george for the weekend. Ill keep mh eyes on the ground for that bushimg for you haha. Saint george nb is close enough to main isnt it? As for the hilux goes , i never knew it had metal links. I actually never had a hilux but do want to get one. As for the spelling and grammar, im no better at that so no need to apologize my friend. Thank you for subscribing to the channel, hope to see more comments down the road and any feedback , positive or negative, and great feedback in my eyes. Gives me imput on what is wanted out of a video .

Just out of curiosity do you happen to remember the size of the bearings that support the diff gears? I can’t find the size anywhere.
@rccustomcreations4 ай бұрын
I will have to double check when i get home.

@@rccustomcreations much appreciated sir!
@rccustomcreations4 ай бұрын
@thatrandombikeguy so there is 4 bearings in each diff housing. 2 that support the pinion and 2 that support the ring gear The 2 for the pinion measure 4mm x 7 mm x 2.5 mm The 2 for the ring gear measure 5mm x 8mm x 2.5 mm You may or may not require shims for each. But each case is different then one another as are the gears to some degree.

@@rccustomcreations ahhhh ya!! It’s the 5x8 I was looking for. Thank you sir. Now off to search for bearings…and possibly a digital caliper as well. Lol

@thatrandombikeguy calipers are cheap on amazon. Dont need anything too expensive. Just something with good repeatability. The bearings are fairly cheap too

Hey bro do you know what pitch the motor pinion is.
@rccustomcreations Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, i do not have that information. That is a very good question. Best info i have on hand it the motor shaft is 1.5 mm the stock gear is 10 tooth and measures across at 4.8 mm. I didn spend about an hour this morning looking for your answer with no results . I dont have the proper information to use a thread pitch calculator. Thank you for checking into my channel and leaving your question

How do you get the guy inside? I can't seem to get it off and what little I managed to pull back won't go back in
@rccustomcreations Жыл бұрын
With your chassis removed from the body. There will be 2 hidden screws under the front bumper that are recessed in the black plastic . Then on the backside of the interior there is another 2 screws that are also recessed. The 2 screws I. The bottom of the interior that are not recessed hold the bench seat to the interior and should not have to be removed. From there the interior should be free to be pulled out and then your figure can be placed inside the cab. My figure is double side tapped to the bench seat with clear double side tape.

Thanks! I think mine is a little different than yours as mine is likely a cheaper newer version. There are two red end caps on the bumper that was preventing me from getting it out.
@rccustomcreations Жыл бұрын
Yes sir. Mine never had that at all. Is yours the fms k10 or the EAZYRC glacier?
@MrCveedub Жыл бұрын
@@rccustomcreations It's the FMS K10, I just got it on Sunday. I notice from other peoples videos that the ESC layout is different, my transmitter is different. I only have front headlights on or off, no turn signals (which I'm totally okay with) and no rear lights.

@@MrCveedub your kidding me... I had no idea of this becomoming a thing... Wonder why fms made a version with less features. Now I almost regeret modding this one lol...

so the scx 24 driveshafts fit with no issues in the truck? trying to find a metal set for mine
@rccustomcreations Жыл бұрын
Some other channel said they fit, but I have yet to find a set that fits... So I call B. S. PERSONALLY I wouldn't waste your money as I have had no luck direct fitting what I have ordered to my chassis. I have given up and am going to have a metal set modified and extended /shortened to fit my truck... I do not understand why aftermarket companies tend to ignore this chassis for popular upgrades like drive shafts... Keep in mind that on eachbof the drive shafts you need, you will require 3mm drive shaft hole for the transmission side and a 4mm hole for the diff side... That is another issue that complicates fitting drive shafts to this chassis.
