FMS Oil Filled Shock Tips / Maintenance

Just my 2¢ about oil levels. I believe there full or close at the factory. From shipping your going in elevation, maybe several times. With the change of air pressure I could easily squeeze oil from the "O" rings. Maybe not.. just my 2¢> HAVE FUN

@WingnutsRC Its hard to believe ever every car that comes off the factory they would be that low. its just a tiny "O" ring holding the oil back. and they get low after running them because its also trying to hold back oil from a mini centrifuge. My 2 $.

I’m shocked I’m cracking up.😂 you just reminded me because I don’t think I’ve checked the oil level in mine but it’s working very good. You definitely have to check the shocks anytime you get a new RC with oil filled shocks I just received a HobbyPlus Evo Pro brushless & I opened up the shocks & not even a drop would come out so I added a few drops to each I also moved the shock position so can’t wait to get it back out. Gotta love FMS 👍

I was very surprised that I had oil in mine for the most part with the exception of one being slightly low I’m used to having to add oil to any RTR and clean up the oil that leaked out during shipping. Lol.

Awesome video 👍 I’m new to the FMS LC80 and it appears I have the same problem out of the box on two shocks not returning. Plus is it normal for these shocks to leak? It appears they may be leaking too.

Yeah that’s normal out of any of them. You have to remember that they sat in a warehouse after being built and then they get shipped overseas normally as well as flown in an airplane so there’s a lot of pressure changes. Temperature changes all that fancy stuff that eventually result in the oil leaking out I can’t think of one brand that I haven’t had to check the shocks and topped them off.

Hey Scott i saw you were having some trouble removing the shock from the lower mounts. just hold the shock down low and push it off. its much easier than using a screw driver.

Yeah, that’s how I do them now. When I first got it, I was worried about breaking the bottom of the shock off after watching other peoples videos but those people don’t do the durability of these FMS trucks any justice

It all depends on your driving style Personally , I like to run a little bit heavier of a shock oil I feel like that gives you a more Realistic effect it also depends on what all Accessories You have and the center of gravity

We’re about to find out… lol a friend of mine is getting ready to order a bunch of different models from the link on my channel and he wants to put them on a unimog since they’re not only aluminum, but they’re also adjustable, which of course got me thinking will they fit on the K5 lol it’s an awesome shock and since they offer it on their website, it’s very easy to acquire.. stay tuned for a video 😉
