In my opinion, the squat is not or should not always be looked at as an exercise. The squat for most people is way to simply lower your center of gravity to perform certain tasks, your body is going to do this movement in a way that is most efficient. However, if Gray was performing a squat with weight as an exercise his form here certainly wouldn't be appropriate. We just need to have a different perspective between the squatting as an exercise and squatting as a pattern to lower your center of gravity.
