i enjoyed shooting this rifle when my husband purchased it. I didn’t have the same feeling shooting the hk91 and the DSA FAL PARA in his collection. those two rifles are fun but a little too heaavy for my tastes. My husband swore by both those rifles from his time overseas in his native country of Eswatini and services in the South African Defense Force. I’m glad he steered me to this channel!

Right on! The recoil from the 17s isn't bad compared to some of the other 308 battle rifles.

@@Aventura.out. what kinda optic you going to put on it? Monstrum tactical makes pretty good and cheap scopes. I been messing around with them a lot glass quality is actually surprisingly good for sub $250-350 range holds zero. Figure let you know. I probably will get some hate comments about putting cheap optics on expensive rifles. I got some hate for my $100 monstrum lpvo on my lwrc haha but I rather invest in ammo and training, or night vision stuff

Laughed at the boot walk at the beginning lol. I normally run my stock at the 3 position for my size. But I found when going for the most accuracy with the irons, I extend the buttstock all the way. This makes the aperture in the rear sight smaller to the eye to give better accuracy. I noticed the ejection pattern still going towards the 2 o’clock position. Try seeing if yours functions reliably with the gas set at the lower position. My earlier model runs great at the low gas setting and the vertical setting is an adverse setting for when dirty. I’m thinking that FN made some changes to the gas plug like they did to my 20. If they did, it might not cycle in the low position unless suppressed.

Thank you! You’re using a mix of 7.62x51 and 308. Quite curious if I could shoot both. .223 in 5.56 .38 in .357 7.62x51 in .308 but not the other way.

I give you a lot of credit for shooting that gun 762 or 308 as everybody knows it is the way to go. My head is off to you now and did a good job. You might wanna consider about buying an M1 eight for yourself. that’s a fun gun shoot to to.

Very cool video. I shot my buddy's scar 16s and it has the recoil of a ruger 10/22 I myself own the 17s and 20s and I would honestly trade my Scar 20 for the 16s because there's no recoil. And 5.56 is cheap to shoot and by the way you're a badass.

the 17S is actually not all that heavy for a 7.62 battle rifle, especially compared to the G3 or FAL variants.
