Man, FNAF really snuck up on me over the years. For the longest time, I brushed it off as a cheap jumpscare generator for tweens. And yeah, the jumpscares are pretty corny, but the tension the games build beforehand? *chef's kiss* It's proper horror. The lore's messy, but fascinating, which I like too. I'm playing Security Breach now, and despite being a fair shot past the intended demographic, it has me in full fanboy mode, lol.

28:52 That's actually one of the reasons the movie is taking so long to make. The lore is so messy that it was hard to find a writer to stick with it. There has been many pitch meetings and rewrites for the movie. But last year (unless there was an update I missed since) Scott Cawthon has finally narrowed it down to a version he likes to be about Michael Afton.

Funfact: Lefty isn't The Puppet... kinda Aftons partner that left didn't do a lot when he was gone.. except one thing. He figured out the Puppet had his daughters soul and knew that it wouldn't rest until William died. So he made Lefty, a automatronic bear that was designed to trap the Puppet within itself keeping it secure until the "Lets burn down the building freeing all the souls of the possessed animatronics" plan came to conclusion.

Yeah it's crazy how one little game inspired by how creepy the Chuck E. cheese animatronics are turned into a series about child killing murder and the complete moral bankruptcy of a franchise. Curiously, they didn't really make any connections to 4. I think 4 is still the creepiest since you play from a child's perspective.
@LorielSaysHi

The thing is, this game wasnt inspired by bc of how creepy chuck e cheeses animatronic is, he got inspired to make this because his last game before fnaf got a person critizing the game (chippers and friends) saying chipper looks creepy and a animatronic so he decided to take note of the review and decided to make his supposedly "last" game and since then you already knew what happened

Scott Cawthon is an extremely inspiring game developer. He made the first 8 games in the series by himself; he did all of the 3d artwork, he wrote the story, he animated the characters, he programmed the games, and he did basically all of the voice acting in the first 3 games himself. The only things he didn't do himself in these games were music, some sound effects, and after the fourth game he started hiring other voice actors. He even managed to release the first 4 games of the series in just under a year (to be far the first 4 games only have about 6 hours of gameplay but that's still impressive for a single developer to do). And it's crazy to think this series almost never happened; after one of his previous games was harshly criticized online he considered giving up on making games entirely; people basically criticized his artwork for the game, they said his art style was unintentionally horrific and they compared his character to creepy Chuck E. Cheese animatronics. After he saw those comments he got the idea to make an intentional horror game about haunted animatronics at a pizzeria. (Also the character people criticized for looking like a dead eyed animatronic is in a few of the newer games.)

Michael and William Afton are actually alive because of special substancion that is called "remnant". William was working on it so he could live forever, that's how they both survived such a horrible things. The remnant had a one weakness - fire. That's why the plan to lure them all and set on fire worked. There is also theory that kids had a remnant injected in them so that's how survived but i'm not sure about it

I always thought the crying child’s death took place first and was the entire reason William started murdering kids in the first place There’s one huge part of the lore that they forgot to mention: Remnants Remnants are basically souls, and it’s stated that William has been experimenting with remnants, hoping to achieve immortality and possibly bring back his son He killed children and created the Funtime Animatronics in order to capture remnants and basically experiment on them, observing how they possessed the animatronics However, if Afton was already killing kids before his son’s death, then I wonder what his motives were.

FNAF 4 is canon, that's the game where all the stuff about the crying child and the bite of '83 was taken from. They don't talk about the *gameplay* of FNAF 4, and the animatronics included within it, because it's largely assumed that you play as the Crying Child and that the nightmare animatronics are figments of his imagination, and that nights 6 and 7 (where you deal with Nightmare Fredbear and Nightmare respectively) are the two nights he spends in the hospital for eventually succumbing to his injuries and dying.

Some of the information is actually outdated but it's still the general idea, the Toy animatronics were never haunted, the puppet wasn't the first victim, the 5 missing ones were the first, and i wish you heard Henry's monologue because it's such a good ending, I've never seen a better one

How could the five be first? Didn’t William get arrested soon after that incident? After which the kids were put into the suits, by the Marionette, who was being possessed by Charlie?
@brotquel1592

@@kamileon7065 however, the Marionette was made with the purpose of keeping William away from the restaurant after his colleague started suspecting of the first five murders and feared the same would happen to his daughter. Also, it could be possible that those "animated" by Marionette were the toy animatronics and not the original ones (even if Foxy is shown with a red head, and not a white one). Another thing is also that, by now, is almost certain the the Bite of '87's responsible is Mangle, not just any toy animatronic.
@meisvictor6035
@meisvictor6035 2 жыл бұрын
@@kamileon7065 it's been confirmed multiple times that the very first victim was Susie (Chica) so the 5 missing kids were the first deaths, the souls were trapped but not controlling the suits, William was never arrested, just a suspect, he killed Charlie after Elizabeth Afton died too im pretty sure, and then Charlie as the puppet have the other souls power over the suits, except Cassidy because Golden Freddy was a decomissioned Springlock suit

I definitely recommend you react to some FNAF Game Theory videos. There's a ton of theories he and his team have come up with over the years, some debunked, some actually vaguely confirmed by Scott himself, but most actually making the timeline and series of events seem much more cohesive. As cohesive as this franchise can get at least. And over the years, he gets better at analyzing details as he begins to understand (as best he can) Scott's intent and what all to look for and how it relates to past events. The biggest exception being the first one, which is a theory about how the secret story of that first game parallels a real life series of murders. But then as sequels begin to come out, that's when the real deep dives begin. They're a lot of fun, even if they're not always right. But I personally think that 80% of the time, he and his team do a fantastic job.

Also, Glitchtrap is actually just Afton coming back again, it's not a replicate of Afton's consciousness. MatPat actually mentioned this in his own series, that in the book series, which is actually a different universe from the game, William Afton, after the events of Pizzeria Simulator, was kept alive by a spirit named Andrew. You can clearly see this parallels with UCN where Afton was kept alive by Cassidy to relive his horrors again and again. So he never died from the fire. The fire wasn't even enough to burn the whole place down. Now, when the VR game was made, Fazbear Entertainment actually scanned hard drives of old animatronics, Springtrap's almost collapsing suit being one of them. Now this, leads to the transference of both William's AND Cassidy's consciousness to the game. William takes form of Glitchtrap, and Cassidy as the golden princess we're playing as in the Princess Quest minigame (minigames with the addition of sequels in Security Breach). Now, after Vanny's taken control by Afton, he said to Cassidy that it will "let me out", leaving Cassidy to be trapped in the game. There is a Security Breach ending that involves playing Princess Quest minigames, but I won't tell you any of that just in case you actually want to play it by yourself.

For me, the franchise's story ended with pizzeria simulator (where William was set on fire the second time) and ultimate custom night, which is basically William Afton's personal hell where he suffers for all eternity. The following stories after that seem too weird to me. I still check them out from time to time, but pizzeria simulator and ultimate custom night just seem like a really fitting end for the franchise.

The thing about the movie is that it has been planned to be a thing for years, but Scott Cawthon cares about the fan base so he has spent the last few years perfecting a script and story for the movie so, yes there is no movie right now but there’s one in the works. And on the side of books there’s the main big 3 (Silver Eyes, Twisted Ones, Fourth Closet or the Silver Eyes trilogy), the few freddy files books, and then the little over a dozen of Fazbear Frights short story collections and then a new Fazbear Frights type book series coming out later this year called Tales from the Pizzaplex. Overall there’s a lot to sink your teeth into for this franchise.

He missed a detail I think. The way I've heard it was that Mr Afton was a nice family man until the first indecent at his restaurant with the crying child, After that Afton's mental state just took a nose dive. Somehow he came across this purple soul energy called remnant which you get from a dead person's soul and you can use this energy to bring nonliving objects to life like anamatronics which is why he started murdering kids and programing his robots to either kill or kidnap them. That is why he is purple. He also found that if you store remnant inside yourself you can become immortal. No mater what damage is inflicted on your body you will still live which is why he was able to survive after the spring-lock malfunction and being burned to death twice. After fnaf 6 like they said his soul was taken to hell but he had a backup plan. He somehow was able to download his consciousness into the fazbear entertainment computers and from the V.R. game he downloaded his personality into Vennesa a beta tester and this gave her a split personality in the form of vanny. She got a job as a security gaurd at the new mega pizza plex in security breach and under Afton's influence she was abke to turn his computer consciousness into a hostile computer virus that curupted the pizza pl ex main servers and turned the anamatronics evil as each of them got a piece of his personality downloaded into them. Vanny also started kidnapping orphaned street kids which is where Gregory the main protagonist of security breach comes in. I won't spoil any more than that. Sorry for this long explanation.

Just like you, I'm also new to FNAF and tried to find what the story is all about. Since I'm not really good at finishing a video game, I just tried to research it and oh boy, there are bunch of different lores and theories mixing together that can be found in the internet. Apparently, its really hard to understand the lore since the clues and secrets that were found in the game can be interpreted in multiple ways and the timeline of when it happen can be questionable. This is the reason why most people do not really agree if a part of the story in FNAF really happen or not. This video, while they tried to present the important information that is truly canon to FNAF, there were still mixed with theories. An example of this is when they claim that the first incident that William Afton killed is when he killed Henry's daughter and not the five children. Or that it is Cassidy was the one who tortured William by keeping him alive and terrorized him with bunch of animatronics. As far as I know, there is no official FNAF answer for this. FNAF's story can be messy. However, since FNAF story is made up by various interpretation from the small bits of canonical lore, its much easier to just accept that this story may be true than to find out if it is true or not. Maybe in another timeline, this is what happen. There is another FNAF interpretation to the story and I want to share this so you can check it out. I love this video because the creator of it tried to make the story make sense and fit all of the lore and theories he have in a linear timeline. FootofaFerret's video is helpful if a person just want to know the basic story of FNAF however as a person who wants a FULL blown horror story, this video is my cup of tea. I mean, after reviewing it, it seems it's interesting--the video--though there are a TONS of facts they got completely wrong--theories that are just conspiracies. Like William killing his wife. That is a conspiracy and not confirmed or even hinted at in any books, games, or even by Scott himself.
@EnteraName1876
@EnteraName1876 2 жыл бұрын
@@PersonianOld I'm fully aware as the video already said that it is just composed of lore and theories that the man just have, as I stated above. That's why I said a FNAF interpretation. [EDIT] I only shared it because, as I said above, I liked the video he created because the creator tried to make a full horror story instead of merely listing out the lores the FNAF have. The creator's interpretation of FNAF timeline was really interesting and while some of it fell flat, his deliverance of the story can get someone hooked.

So... MatPat didn’t mention this in the video but (thanks to the books despite being an alternate universes) William killed the kids to gather Remnant which is like a residual residue of the soul in order to attain immortality, it’s a collectible item in Special Delivery. Anyway, Remnant can be melted down and fused into metal, Pizzeria Simulator suggesting five sacrifices being key to this, and since Pizzeria Simulator also reveals the scooper in Sister Location is *made* of Remnant-infused metal, this would explain when Michael was disemboweled, he couldn’t die do to the Remnant infecting him. I'm not really a horror fan but what draws me into FNAF franchise is the lore - how the mystery and horror is never all mentioned or said, thus far. It is given to you in pieces and sometimes in hidden cut-scenes which you have to find sometimes for yourself. I also love that the animatronics are actually a massive red herring but most people don't realize that and then the goal is to find out who is their killer and how they can finally once and for all destroy and annihilate the killer and his followers. :)

Well congratulations, you're caught up with everything up to April 2021. Ofcourse sinc Security Breach released in december, there was nothing about it that wasnt from trailers in the video. Id recommend a few things 1. Play Security Breach by yourselves than watch Matpats 4 Security Breach theories (starting with "FNAF: dont trust Greogry", you'll learn who is Gregory is after playing), i recommend this the most cause security breach, surprisingly, is the most popular fnaf game.. mainly cause its more on the "i pretty much only scare 4 year olds" end of the scariness spectrum 2. Just watch the theories... i dont recommend this cause you'll miss ALOT of context. 3. Play All FNAF Games then do Matpats Security Breach theories. I definitly recommend this, but only if you have time. 4. Do any of the above + Watch some of MatPats theories specifically regarding the Fazbear Fright Books (the first being "The Secret Crimes of 1985", however, note, any information that contradicts revent information is outdated, so remember everything that was said in the video you just reacted to) and go from there So those are my recommendations on what to do next. Bassically im letting you select how to expierence the franchise. Id personally play all the games, MatPats Security Breach theories and his book theories. But thats because i have time. Figure out what to do yourselves of these options.
