havent watched too much but the tone of the animatronic when it speaks to you is actually chilling. it sounds like a child in the "what are you doing?" and how it says "whatchu doin'?", that mixed with the fact that its an expressionless animatronic truly does make it feel like theres something trapped in there, no longer able to physically express emotion. then the way the pitch of its voice goes up and down when it asks "why are you hiding?" feels so psychotic and threatening. like false comfort in a way, it wants to sound safe and comforting but the intentions shine through and it just feels really scary in the end.

First of all, I totally agree that Battington managed to animate the different movements perfectly, and the music makes me think of a light blue and cliffs. Also, Mat pat, im pretty sure the "ear" in freddys stomach is just a part of his endo. As well as all of that, the little girl saying "mommy" was just a fear response. When Kids are scared or even adults, they will usually call out for someone they trust or for someone to help.

22:01 I think the 'fifth finger' was a result of the pads. Each finger has 2 pads, but at the time, the angle you had would make you assume it's just 1 pad per finger, so you counted 5 pads. One per finger, and an extra that was behind the knuckle of the pinky.

So I figured out why Mat(and I) counted 5 fingers. It was when Freddy had his arms out to display the logo, and each finger has 2 pads on it. I think the new books becoming more descriptive is more a result of the fact that they are aware that if they don’t grow with their original audience then they will be left behind until that OG group has children, nixed & nephews, or siblings who reach an age/ developmentally appropriate stage where they can share them with. That can leave chunks of down time financially and that isn’t good for anyone. I say this because my oldest who turned 19 this year introduced me to it all when he was in the 5th or 6th grade (been a while). Good business sense in this industry is to grow with your audience.

36:10 "Mommy?" Is more of a naive call for help. The girl is attempting to call for help from her Mom in the restaurant, but it more hurts than helps by alerting the aforementioned giant demon bird.

15:01 Now as a 80s fan the Endoskeleton is based on the Rock afire explosion animatronic mechs. And that is a Pneumatic Cylinder that would move a certain part of the arm. The cylinders would be in different sizes depending on the movement as certain parts are heavier than others and would require alot more force to lift. 19:12 The Pneumatic Cylinders runs on compressed air so a valid reason that bonnie is not moving as much either due to program error with not being able to recieve a signal, or have little to no air coming to the cylinder causing it to be mainly in his aired down position. Which honestly where is the air coming from unless they have a portable compressor and battery

As a somewhat horror novelist / storyteller; YEAH, OUR ENTIRE THING IS ABOUT IMPLICATIONS WITHIN YOUR MIND. If we can create a horrible and twisted image in your mind of what is being described, we can make you feel disturbed from what we say. We may not feel it, but we try and make you feel it. The mind goes to grim places from other sources of media, like from personal experiences or tall tales. I love describing what happens in detail than just; “oh, this happened and yeah it was sad” Love ya content Matt, keep making content like this!

Matpat, I've loved the robotic concepts of fnaf since 2014 since it came out that I found myself happily accepting a low level automation tech job. Been there for 5 years now and the most robotic thing there are massive palletizing robots (ie the big arm robot that grabs and move pallets and products)! And I can tell you from experience. No matter if they're haunted or not. Apply water where its not suppose to be, potentially the electronics, and no amount of remnant will keep that thing on its feet! PRO TIP.

@@antidotebrain69 It would be surprisingly effective even against the big animatronics. The tick it to hit them where their suits expose their insides, so the water would drip down into the electronics lol.

The thing that scares me most about the sound response test is the fact that the poor young girl sounded so real that it truly terrified and what I mean is she said "Mommy" cause she wanted to yell for help in that situation and when she said "No Chica!" it literally sounded like what an actual child would say.

18:28 this reminds me of that one time that my writing teacher told us to write a narrative essay about an episode of the twilight zone called the monsters are due on maple street. In response to what I thought about the music: I tried to disassociate what I thought of the music from what it's traditionally used for in media. Once I did that I came to something surprisingly similar to Mat. I thought of looking up while underwater. There's something about it that reflects the tranquility that comes from being underwater, the weightlessness of floating, the light filtering through the water. However, it also captures the hidden dangers. The threat of drowning, how difficult it can sometimes feel to move, the darkness below and what lurks beneath. It's beautiful and also unsettling. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. (Sorry I'm an art graduate who hasn't been able to talk about art with anyone in forever.)

I just wanna say the way that the fandom and the actual creators can work to together to creat new and more horrifying games, videos, and even movies is just beautiful. And just because someone sees something differently doesn’t mean that it’s inherently wrong everyone see every thing differently and that’s why it so amazing. It’s all about perspective, and I love the fact that even if someone doesn’t fully agree or see it how you do they can at least try to understand how you see it. Sorry it’s so long but honestly I’m so happy that we can just enjoy this amazing creative experience and try to understand it! 😁
