“Death is not an Escape” refers to the storyline lore of the game! In the lore, the entity that brings these survivors to those realms feeds of their hope fear pain, etc… If they die, they lose a bit of their soul and a piece of themselves and are resurrected by the entity to be fed off more of . This happens until they’re an emotionless husk, and the entity disposes of them 😬

Glad to see some Plague appreciation! Her story is one of the most interesting... she was a (Babylonian? I think) Priestess whose job was to pray harder so the plague ravaging the city would stop. She became the high priestess because everyone else above her... uh... died from plague. She kept praying, even when she got infected - that's why her body is all messed up. Now obviously they didn't know about disease back then, so she was actually spreading it like crazy by going around doing priestess stuff while infected, and eventually she was about to die, having done many things in the name of faith to try and appease the gods - severing her own toe, exiling herself when she didn't get better, because to her that meant she wasn't DEVOTED enough to be saved - she said a final prayer, and something answered her. And in the end, The Entity heard her prayer, and she joined her new God.

Was rewatching this and realised you were really confused on the trickster one, or All Kill. (Round up of his lore not fully in depth) The trickster is a K-pop star with a really sick twist, he first trapped his bandmates in a fire and it was then he realised all he wanted was the spotlight. He began making music but felt they lacked something and he kidnapped his fans to record their screams and then put them into his music, so in the trailer you could see him at a concert or something but it kept flickering back to when he was murdering his victim/victims for that song. I hope that explains everything a bit better :D

The Oni is a demonic creature in Japanese folklore. His gameplay is very unique, revolving around him hurting survivors and collecting their blood orbs. collecting enough enrages his him- gaining a new weapon (kanabo) and running like 100 MPH where he can instantaneously down survivors! currently, he's my favorite character and my main alongside Bubba Sawyer (leatherface)!

He's not quite top tier, but compared to Nurse and Spirit (the two best killers in the game since forever), he's definitely more beginner friendly.

Silent Hill is one of the best and first survival horror games, the movie was okay but it's nothing compared to the game. Pyramid Head/The Executioner is one of my favorite monsters/killers to date. Obviously I loved the Halloween trailer, it's just classic Michael Myers. BTW Ken I'm curious if you liked the rebooted 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street, I actually do.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames More effects don't necessarily mean better effects. CGI is very advanced but it's also incredibly difficult to make look verisimilar. Practical effects (makeup, prosthetics, etc.) are...already real, they catch light in the right ways, they just need to be the right colours and blended properly with the actor.

for me, its all terrifying when they are chasing you or just pop up. BUT, the one that just gets me is The Huntress. its just so unnerving that your trying to be sneaky and you hear the killer softly and sweetly humming as she gets closer and closer. she, to me, is the most terrifying.

Pyramid Head is my all time fave horror villain. Silent Hill is a fantastic horror franchise, the movie doesn't do it justice but is still alright. Silent Hill itself acts as another dimension that acts kinda like purgatory, trapping the various characters in the series and tormenting them with monsters that are manifestations of their own psyche. Its main big bad, Pyramid Head, is a reflection of the protagonist's desire to punish himself for having sexual fantasies about the nurses while his wife is dying in hospital. So it stalks him around Silent Hill seeking to punish him, and also is seen to sometimes assault other monsters in rather suggestive ways. Yeah the whole franchise is messed up on so many levels.

DbD has a “heartbeat/terror radius“ system gives the killer a circular radius around him with specific meter ranges. Survivors within the range hear it along with the killer horror music theme and alerts them of the killer presence. Myers can go 100% silent for the whole match and see survivors thru walls within 16 meter range, only possible to detect via direct eye contact. He can bring the true suspense and horror to the game. My favorite killer!

“Death is not an escape” is not just a tag line my dear friends is also literally! The Game Center’s around a being of great power know as the “entity” and it feeds on hope and despair and the game and maps are essentially its feed grounds the survivors are the food as in the game as the killer you have to put them on hooks for the entity to take them and feed! But they will always come back alive at the end ritual either by getting hooked or escaping, the killers are the essential the entity’s providers of his food hell most of them like: the pig, spirit and the gun slinger (the cowboy guy )Are already dead the entity just takes them so his ritual wether alive or dead so they can serve it and feed it. Hence the saying “death is not escape” cause no matter even if you escape the killers or die, the survivors are trapped in the entity’s games to forever be it’s source of food! Oh and: the killer the legion is a little messed cause is essentially a adult with a pair of kids as they followed him in doing a lot of bad stuff and in one of there escapeds they ended up killing a store owner. Thought the other mebers don’t appear together in the same room cause the ritual requires one killer to start it off there still in there just not being to meet each other!

As someone who mains Legion and is lovestruck with one of them, let me summarize their backstory: A nineteen-year-old troublemaker named Frank Morrison moved into a fictional town in Canada, where it's supposedly a great new life with his 86th foster dad (Just a random number, the actual lore doesn't say how many foster homes Frank had). Frank was thinking of having another foster home until he met Julie, a party girl that's of his age. Frank attended most (if not all) of her parties and that's where he met Joey and Susie. Later on, the four has their own night outs and Frank lead them into the criminal life. Night after night they would commit all sorts of crime with masks to hide their identity. Nothing felt even more free for them, until that one night. Joey just got fired from a store and Frank dared the group to vandalize it. After sneaking in and started doing their work, an employee (not the owner) grabbed Julie and tried threatening Susie and Joey. Clouded in dark thoughts, Frank put a knife on the worker (trying not to be too graphic) and had everyone else do the same thing. Susie was the most reluctant, so Frank "helped" her (I won't go into detail for this one too). They carried the body into the trunk of Joey's car and drove up to their main hangout spot (some abandoned motel) to dispose it. As they were digging into the mud, Frank thought that he saw something further in the woods. A fog was thickening so he couldn't exactly see well, so he decided to check it out to see if it was just some animal or a trespasser that can potentially report them to the authorities. However, Julie noticed he was gone for a while, so the three decided to look for him. This is when they entered the realm of the Entity. If you're wondering, the families did go search for them but nothing happened. It's now just a case of a mysterious disappearance for the history of that town. I'm not sure if Jeff (the survivor that came with them in the release of the The Legion) was in the same town when he got taken by the Entity. But they did have a small interaction when Frank hired him to paint a mural in the abandoned motel, and Jeff was oblivious of the children's nightly behaviors like everyone else in town.

They just can quickly slice and vault and cause people To have to mend to waste time. I truly wish it was a a power that the killer can make themselves look and act like any characters they down/hook. Hey guys!!! I have been playing this game for about 3 years and I'll do my best to give you a summary of it!!! Dead by Daylight (DbD) is a purely online game, as of now, that is a 4V1 style game. 4 survivors, 1 killer each match. The main objectives for the survivors is to fix and repair 5 of the 7 generators sprawled throughout the map. And the Killers main objective is to down and hook the survivors on meat hooks to sacrifice them to what is called, "The Entity". And a short summary of the Entity is this ancient creature that pulls people into the twisted game of hide and seek essentially. It feeds off of the emotions of everyone in this "game" that It created. (such as fear, anxiety, bloodlust, hope, love, care, etc.) And as for how adding new characters work. You need to use either real money or in-game currency (though it takes MUCH longer) to buy them from the in-game store! And finally, my favorite killer as of right now is a really tough choice!! But my top 3 would be: The Legion, Michael Myers, orrr the Plague!!!

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames And the tagline "Death is not an escape" is a reference to the fact that when a Survivor dies, the Entity just resurrects them and throws them into another trial against another Killer. The Survivors are just trapped forever, in a near endless cycle of fear and death. Eventually they get "spent" and the Entity can no longer draw sustenance from them, and they get discarded into another realm called the Void.

Loved the reactions i saw. The gameplay isnt as "scary", although it does get intense as the killer has advantages over the 4 survivors. The game is mostly defend generators as the killer, with violence as the deterrent. I do think seeing the "mori" kills would be entertaining (its the killers special, which rarely happens as you need a item equip for it. Mori, in latin, is death.

Out of all the killers, I think Michael Myers, the Executioner, the Demogorgon and Nemesis gives me the most anxiety when playing. All of them hade scary chase music, but a few weeks ago, I was fixing a generator, and I didn’t notice Michael was right behind me so his music didn’t play, and he snatched me right up 😂 I think Michael and Nemesis probably had the best trailer though

Fun fact: All of the killers (except for the demogorgon) are or used to be human, and they all have their own backstories that you can read online. They’re pretty interesting because they tell you what event in their life changed them into a killer, and some of them are pretty sad (Hillbilly, Wraith, Spirit, and Hag come to mind first). Some of them were just a wee bit insane from the get-go though (cough Doctor cough). But basically the game is run by something called the Entity. In game, it is the killer’s job to make sacrifices to the Entity. Both survivors and killers can make offerings to it, that may shift the game in their favor. Lore-wise, when a person takes their turning point into being a killer, and they show their potential for killing more, the Entity will take them into the game, and that’s how they got there. But I love the lore and backstories. Like some of the killers were super innocent people that just had bad things happen to them.

My favorite movie of all the time is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s one of the first more scary horror movies (being released in 1974) and I’m so happy that Leatherface (my fave horror “villain”) is playable. Though he gained a bad opinion since some players use him to cheat and face camp (since Bubba is kind of op) The second part of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre released in 1980s is much less scary, because it’s a dark comedy, though more gorey than the original. I really recommend you to watch it, it’s a true classic ! It’s a masterpiece and it will always hold a place in my list of faves. Great video as always ❤️

My fave is defintely the trickster and the huntress! The trickster is compared to other killers pretty special cause he is really near by a normal human and he has voicelines, also his backstory is really interesting cause he‘s from „our“ world and ingame he breaks sometimes the 4th wall. I like the huntress cause her backstory is very sad and it explains very good why she is, how she is and I just LOVE the lullaby she sings!

I' would've preferred Mr. X over Nemesis. He's just such a polite and classy Resident Evil monster. When I saw that both Leon and Claire were there, I thought that Mr. X was going to show up alongside Nemesis. Fun fact, since Resident Evil 2 and 3 happen almost at the same time and around the same location that means that Mr. X and Nemesis were both terrorizing the Racoon City Police Department and the surrounding area around the same time as well. So you've had people speculate as to whether those two ever encountered one another while they were both hunting down their respective Resi heroes.

Haven't ever played DBD but I've watched a LOT of it lately. It's a pretty cool game where 4 Survivors have to sneak around the environment and repair a bunch of generators to power the exit door so they can escape, the whole while trying to dodge one person playing a psycho killer who wants to hang em up on hooks to sacrifice them to some sort of dark god entity. They have a really good blend of classic guest stars and original ideas, really a "best of all worlds" kind of horror survival game. You SAY you like the Plague, but you haven't seen what she does lol. Personally, I think she's the nastiest killer on the roster. I won't spoil it in case you guys end up watching the killer spotlights like someone else in the comments recommended...but yeah, she's cool but I'd rather not lol. My favorite expansion is definitely the Silent Hill one. The older classic games are SO good, some of the best horror games of their generation (mostly PS2 and thereabouts). They made a couple of movies too, and they're perfectly weird to capture the essence of the games' mood. If you're into haunting, weirdo horror stuff I definitely recommend at least checking out the movies since they're more accessible than sitting down to an older game. There are mixed opinions on how good the movies actually ARE, but personally I love them. :)

I absolutely love The Pig as most likely one of, if not my all time favourite character (bc Michael is also a favourite of mine lol), but especially because the game gives her what she never truly had in the movies. A sort of 'freedom' as messed up as that sounds. (Kinda sorta spoilers, ig? The Saw Franchise has been out for a while but just in case lol) In the movies, Amanda is a victim of John Kramer, the original Jigsaw. Afterwords, she becomes a sort of apprentice to him, helping him build and execute traps, take victims, and even taking part in the nerve gas house trap from Saw 2. However, she's not the only apprentice, there's also Mark Hoffman who came before her. There are other apprentice's too, but for the sake of her story in particular, he's kinda the only one that matters in this regard. 😅 Prior to becoming a Jigsaw apprentice, Amanda was a drug addict and had been in prison after being framed by Detective Eric Matthews. After being freed, she was sent to Jill Tuck's clinic to try and break her addiction. There she met another patient, Cecil and the two eventually got together. She convinced him to rob the clinic for a fix one night, and in doing so, directly (indirectly?) kicked off the chain of events that would lead to Jill's miscarrige. Jill Tuck is/was the wife of John Kramer. John never knew about Amanda's involvement in these events, and Hoffman used that to his advantage. In Saw 3, he used this knowledge to blackmail her into killing Dr. Lynn Denlon, another victim of Jigsaw's traps. She obeyed to avoid this, because of how severe her mental dependency on John had become. However, going through with it caused Lynn's husband Jeff, to kill Amanda via gunshot to the throat. In the DbD lore ( I think? I'm not too caught up on the game so idk how canon this is tbh) Amanda was approached by the entity, post-death, and taken into the DbD world as The Pig. I mentioned the sort of "Freedom" bc it never really connects her as an apprentice, only as "The Pig". In the Saw universe, Amanda is constantly chastised for making her traps unwinnable towards the end, because she starts to believe that the traps, which had been previously regarded by Jigsaw and his apprentices as being used to "save" (As quote said to her when she survives the Reverse Bear Trap, which she was put into at the beginning of Saw 1, for her drug addiction, "Most people are so ungrateful to be alive... But not you, not anymore."), don't actually save anyone, because people can't change or be saved. John and even Hoffman criticize her for this (which is total hypocrisy on Hoffman's part btw >:/), but in the DbD universe, that's kinda...y'know the whole point. She's not meant to 'save' or 'help', she was brought here to harm, to maim and kill for the Entity. (Sorry that was long, Saw ooverall, but especially anything Amanda related is a huge hyperfixation for me 😅)

Idk if you guys read this but this is my first video of yours, and I loved it. I absolutely love dbd so much to consider it my favorite game, even though I avoided it for 3 years. I main oni, but my fave trailer was ghost face for the comedic aspect. Gameplay is simple but as a survivor, it's a constant battle to tackle your fear and play the objective to try and win or die in the process. It's exclusively multiplayer and every killer you face is another person. It's my guilty pleasure.

Loved these reactions!! My personal favorite Killer is for sure the Plague, the one that Bethany called original (which Adiris, as she's named, definitely is!). The Plague is a very unique - and gross, lol - concept for a character and I adore her a lot. She's an ancient Babylonian high priestess and so much of her backstory has hints/Easter eggs about ancient Mesopotamian lore and religion for history nerds like me to geek over. Some of her dialogue is audible, real Akkadian, one of the languages of ancient Babylon, and her lore is some of DBD's most well-written, in my opinion!

Ik this is late but maybe you’ll see it lol. Pyramid head (The Executioner) in the game is the most powerful of all the killers. He has the power to not only bend the realm to his own needs, but he can break the rules of the “Game” The Entity (the god of the realm) has created. He can tear apart the lands of the realm with the massive blade he tows behind him, basically making traps as he walks. And he can summon and use his own personal “Hook” called the Cage of Atonement. Not only that, but while other killers need a “Mori” to kill survivors, The Executioner can do it without one aslong as they’ve been hooked twice and have the “Torment” status effect, the effect they get from walking over the rips in the land he leaves behind that I mentioned earlier. It’s believed he’s even stronger then Micheal Myers, in the sense that the entity can’t control either of them like he can everyone else, not physically nor mentally. It’s believed that The Executioner could leave whenever he wants, but he stays anyway. As he is the personification of Torture, pain, torment and evil, he gets joy from the endless supply of Victims The Entity can provide him.
