Great explanation. I also like how you explained how you cleaned the inside of the manifold. That’s something that no other video that I saw today did. However, we missed some great opportunities to do some detailed close-up before and after. But besides that. Great video.

I did this on my f body, all the way back to the Cat, and was shocked at how much cooler it was under hood

Love your vids, very informative. love the detail of information provided, so kudos to you. Can't wait until you're done. Btw. Do you think it would be a good idea to do some portmatching on an old car from 75, dual carbed engine? Looked at them and there is a pretty decent burr on them between manifold and head. Also would it make it harder to adjust the carbs correctly to fit the "better" flow? Greetings form Denmark

port matching is ALWAYS beneficial

for longer bits use a bigger dremel/ die grinder, helps control them alot better.

Obviously this would be hard to do, but you thought about coating the inside as much as you can reach? Do you trust it enough to be on the inside of the manifold? And not chip off and ruin a turbo. Would be good as it would reduce heat going into the manifold, and instead go into the turbo, for better spool. Got me thinking you could get an eastwood chassis cavity spray (its like a long bendy pipe with a 360 degree spray nozzle on the end) , and snake that through the header tubes. Hmmmmmmmmm

I did - but because I don't know anything about the adhesion of this coating - including how well it holds up to being directly exposed to the exhaust stream - and because it is upstream from my turbos, I chose to hold off coating the inside. On paper, coating the inside should double effectiveness. I wish I had an engine dyno. I'd try uncoated, outside only, and both and see if there was any change to power, EGT, and exhaust pressure.

As long as the inside is blasted and decreased then the coating will stick. My company is designing a new spray nozzle just to spray cerakote on the inside of pipes and frames. Cerakote high heat glacier series can withstand a direct heat up to 2200 degrees. Ive built a business around this product and have been very successful. @RecceDG if you have any questions about the product you can message me through youtube or facebook Mean Deans Performance Coatings.
