I own it. It is an amazing 45. I used 1911's in the Army as a CAV Scout/LRRP 11E20R8 & 11D20R8 1970-77. Never carry anything without a 4 in it. This is the only combat-ready weapon I have seen on the market. Mine came with the Venom vortex red dot. Your review video is one of the most impressive videos I have ever watched. Very informative, very clean filming. I am truly impressed.

@TheGunShieldTV4 жыл бұрын
davec3487: Thanks for watching! Typically, O-Rings can be found in the plumbing section of your local hardware store (faucets/hoses sections). They cost a couple bucks for several in a container. I like mine but it doesn't like to eject the magazines. I tried to slightly enlarge where the magazine release is on both sides. No improvements. Then I removed the spring for the magazine release to check it. Then the darn spring broke in two. I called FN Support and they will not send me a new spring. They said I had to order parts from MidWest Gun Works, or mail them my pistol when all I need is a spring that my gunsmith can install. I have ordered things from MWGW before. They are a good company. But the 'Magazine Catch Spring' is on back order. I called MWGW to see if they could special order a few of the Magazine Catch Springs. They said No. So now I have a very nice paper weight for now. I have an original Colt 1860 Army made in 1864. I've had it since 1969. The springs are still good. I bought a new SAR USA K2 45. It's an improved version of the CZ 97. It has a 14 round magazine, light rail. A safety that can be used cocked and locked like a 1911 or can be engaged with the hammer down. I'm also very happy with my Para Ordnance P-14. So I'm good to go. Too bad FN Support doesn't include parts you need. Cheers

@STEVE R: Thanks for the comment! That is quite the ordeal, sir.😳 As far as I know, the first gen FNX's had that problem w/ sticky mags. Then, after many complaints they offered to replace the frames for anyone w/ that problem. My guess is that's why they insisted you mail it in. Unfortunately, the only way to fix this problem now (in your unique case) is to pay the replacement fee/gunsmithing charges to get a new frame from FNH due to your mods. Gotta tell ya, you'll be in for a very long turnaround time more than likely. But, it'll be worth it in the end to have a functioning pistol. As for me, I'm currently having some problems w/ MGW at the moment. UPS lost my package & MGW is stonewalling my replacements. So, I def know the struggle my friend! Thanks for your viewership & support of the channel. Hope this helps in your final decision. Happy shooting!!!💪🏾😎

@@TheGunShieldTV I was finally able to new get magazine release springs from MidWest Gun Works. They are the only authorized supplier of FN parts. FN will not sell parts to customers. I got one a couple of weeks ago only put 50 rounds through her had problems with my slide not locking back after last round? Herd from other saying spring is really tight and have to break it in more?
@TheGunShieldTV4 жыл бұрын
Rick Osters: Thanks for sharing this my friend. Were you using standard factory ammo 230gr ball? If so, you're gonna need to do some troubleshooting 1st before you know the real issue. Thoroughly clean/lightly lubricate firearm. (1) load each mag w/ 2rds and fire. If the slide locks back after 2nd round is fired then that mag is good. Rinse/repeat. (2) Load each mag with 1rd & fire one-handed. You're ruling out the possibility of erroneously contacting the slide stop or mag release while shooting. If the slide locks back on all of the mags, the situation could possibly be your two -handed shooting grip. (3) Load up a full mag & insert on a closed slide. Charge the weapon & put it on safe. check to see if mag was fully seated. If so, go hot & fire normally while closely monitoring shooting grip contacting slide stop & mag release. This should be all you need to do in order to rule out bad mags or recoil springs. Just to be safe, I'd probably run a couple hundred rds through the pistol before swapping recoil springs or sending the pistol to FN for service. Couldn't hurt to call the customer service number & inquire about your specific issues if you notice or think there's a larger problem w/ the pistol. I truly appreciate your viewership & hope this helps. Please keep in touch and let me know your decisions and/or progress. Happy Shooting!!!

I just got this gun like a month ago and I was having the same problems initially, but after firing about 200 rounds through it I have had no problems. My guess is that it needs to be broken in first or that the fresh mags need to be worn in and compressed.

I suspect you're gonna have to do a thorough cleaning and rack the slide a few hundred times before firing as the recoil spring might need to loosen up a bit.
