Foams in Running Shoes (TPU vs EVA)

EVA stands for 'ethylene-vinyl acetate,' it has more of a styrofoam texture, and it is what running shoes are traditionally made out of.
TPU stands for 'thermoplastic polyurethane,' it has more of a plastic texture, and it's what shoes such as the New Balance 880s, Saucony Triumphs, and Brooks Levitates are made out of.
TPU is more durable, and retains its volume and cushioning, over EVA in the long run.

Thanks for sharing this information, I realized this a few hours ago when I was researching why my Hoka Shoes which I have been using for years due to their stack height would require replacement so frequently. The market has changed and now there are so many TPU choices for runners looking for high stack heights.
