I was watching most of day. She was in a very pensive state and not too vocal compared to only a day ago. Shadow never left her for most of day until shortly before event. The actual laying was all of 6-7 minutes. Swiftly executed but you can hear her struggle to make the big pushes! She really was an Angel all day. Now to witness Shadow’s reaction in morning! Bless these sweet eagles that this will be their Season again.

The universe creates another living marvel. There may not seem to be much fluff there, but there are a lot of small bits of wood mingled in with the fluff. Wood is a good insulator and you have to say there are lots of it large and small - depth-wise and width-wise. This may be enough for warmth. Good luck.

Huzzah! Yippee! Congratulations to Jackie and Shadow! Is it customary for Shadow to spend the night near the nest when Jackie is incubating? I can't remember from last year, which was my first season watching J&S so that detail escaped me at the time. Anyway, it's so exciting--thanks for the capture SKH.

I just discovered Jackie & Shadow (last season) and have been waiting to see this! But I have questions.... First egg of 2025? Does this mean first of the clutch, or do eagles have multiple clutches during the year? (I'm a Annie & Archie follower, I know falcons). I'll learn more by watching I know, but I'm still curious. Good job Jackie and Shadow, can't wait to see what happens with the family!

Eagles have one clutch per year unless the first one fails early on, in which case they *sometimes* have a second.
