While I don't have Ps or Lr, I wonder if Affinity has these blending options. I just bought the program so I don't know its capabilities yet. (Thanks for the day out.) -Elaine

Thanks for the great video. I've only done this technique once or twice. Do you have a rule you follow to determine how much to zoom into the background? The last one I did, my foreground was 15 mm and my background was 24mm. In my opinion I should have gone a little more than 24mm. I ended up increasing the background size in Photoshop even more but it blurred the background a little more than I wished.

Hi Gary: This was a very interesting technique to try. I will have to try this when I am out in a location where this would be suitable. In your opinion would a geared ball head make the tilting process easier? Regards , Keith

Great video. Maybe it's just me, but when you are explaining Photoshop you say we need to move it 'there' and look at it 'here'. It might just be because I am relatively new to Photoshop, but it is not very clear where 'here' and 'there' are. More detailed description would be useful. I don't know if anyone else would agree. Otherwise great video though 👍

Simply because it is a technique that is used every now and again and some folks might not be aware of it. In post it also allows folks to see considerations to be made when editing. These skills whether it's within the composition, shooting, camera techniques, and in post can be carried over to all forms of photography and it's the amalgamation of various different skills that ultimately improve your photography. Sharing these different techniques, whether used or not, is beneficial to everyone as you can pick up something new every time you watch a video or read a book. We are all learning and all at different stages of learning so it's good to share. Thanks for watching😀👍👍

@@GaryMcIntyrePhotographer If you put it this way, you are absolutely right! Many years ago I debunked some fake images with huge skeletons, made by this technique. It was fun. You are doing a fine job by the way and I enjoyed your Scottish accent! 👏👏👏👍
