I was recently wondering why my shots don't look as amazing as many I see online... and then I discovered focal length/perspective blending. This was a really great video. I want to try this ASAP!

Thanks Scott. Great video. I am not that comfortable with Photoshop so I do not get good results straightening my leaning trees, etc. This will help me a lot. Nice photo too.

Thank you. This is something that has bothered me for a while with my 16mm Sigma 1.4 landscapes. I have been making some messes in Photoshop by selecting and trying to free transform backgrounds that appear tiny, but your method is much more sensible. I will try it today!

Nice video. Very useful technique. If you know in advance that you are going to blend perspectives, it would be better to take a second shot of the background using a larger focal length and blend the two images. That way you can avoid the loss of resolution from scaling up the background.

That would be an interesting test, but that would make blending the two images a little harder, no?

@@DenimSuitPhoto There are tutorials on KZbin that use this technique. You have to plan in advance and use a tripod to make sure the two images line up. The added advantage of using two images is you can use two different focal lengths to get the entire image in focus.

Perspective wrap vs focal length blend with clone stamp which is better?
@DenimSuitPhoto5 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, using the clone stamp tool will always yield better results because you can control exactly what you want the final result to look like. Its harder and more time consuming than just using the perspective warp tool, but in my opinion its worth the trouble
