Focke Wulf 190 A8 does a full engine test run to vereify after an oil leak was fixed the day before. All went well. The FW190 is a newly build aircraft with many original parts. It`s powered by a "russian" Ash82T 14cyl. radial engine with around 1900 horsepower. There are plans to refit this aircraft with a original BMW801 radial engine.
Engine run was performed by Testpilot Klaus Plasa.
All filmed at the 2019 Hangar10 Fly In.
This kind of a behind the scenes video, a little longer, but I hope you like it.
Hangar10 Museum has many airworthy warbirds, especially german types.
Special thanks to the Hangar10 crew for giving me access.
Please check the Hangar10 website for opening times...

Его тактика применения - удар со спины на увеличенной скорости и использование мощного оружия. Ну вот так подло со спины и хотели завоевать Россию всегда, поэтому и такие потери. What amazes me most about these WW2 warbirds is how they managed to make so many incredibly powerful engines fit in such small warbirds and then found a way to carry enough fuel to power those thirsty engines for up to hours whilst simultaneously having to carry armament and ammo.

I like the lines of the FW-190 series aircraft. From the A/F’s through the Dora’s powered by the Jumo engines. If I were a pilot I’d jump at the opportunity to fly the 190. I suppose that you would get used to dealing with death, but I really have no idea. Guys used to die occasionally riding motorcycles but unless it was your friend or you saw the accident or the dead guy then you didn't worry about it too much.

After years of saying I'd never own a bmw motorcycle I recently bought a gs1200 te purely because that massive boxer engine on start up reminded me just a little of the 801. I'll never own anything this but a high performance bike is as close as I'll get to it (and my gs is slowest of my big bore bikes it just sounds fabulous)

+David The Kraut Flugwerk was a German company that set up a production line of Fw-190 kits (with some changes) and offered them as a low-cost option for warplane collectors. Twenty-one were offered but I think only about ten of them have been completed to fly including this one.

No better sounds then a World War 2 Airplane or Tank engine ripping at high RPM’s. World War 2 was such an amazing era for technology and beauty. This 190c, BF109, ME262, P51 Mustang, Spitfire, Corsair, Black Widow, P38 i could go on and on and not to mention the Tiger and King tiger. Beautiful Machines.

The late Douglas Bader swore he was downed in an accidental collision. In fact he was shot down by the FW190. It was said if you were hit by a broadside by the 190, it felt like being in a head on collision.

He was shot down by one of his own side who mistook his Spitfire for one of the new more rounded Bf109Fs. They were fighting Messerschmitts not 190s. Bader was happy to have it covered up as it would have looked bad at the time.

What a beautiful machine! When I was a kid, I put together a Focke Wolf 190 balsa wood model kit with tissue paper covering the wings and fuselage. The propeller was powered by a rubber band - which of course, you couldn't replace, because of the tissue paper glued over the fuselage. Anyway, the first flight was a disaster! LOL! After experiencing more damage, I eventually poured lighter fluid on it and gave it a fiery send off.
