This is part 1 of a 2 part series that documents the installation of a new turbo in a MK3 Ford Focus RS. Part 1 is the removal of the turbo and part 2 the installation of the turbo. Sorry for the shaking in the beginning. It gets betters after a few scenes. This was my first video and I had to learn things the hard way.

At first I thought the turbo was seized because it was making a sound similar to squeaking brakes. But after removing the turbo and taking it to a master tech to be analyzed, I found out that it was just a recirculation valve failure. Thank you Jeff from Mullinax Ford in Apopka Florida!
Earlier in the year I had another dealership replace my turbo after a rag was sucked into it. I specified that my aftermarket wastegate actuator and recirculation valve needed to be moved to the new turbo. They moved my wastegate actuator but not my recirculation valve. So after two days tracking the car at Daytona Speedway, the stock recirculation failed.
