In this video, we install bonnet risers to the mk2 Focus ST, also known as lifters or spacers or frankly whatever you choose to call them.
I personally think they look awesome, as for the bonnet setup.. being honest, let's just say I need more time to sleep on it.

Got the heated windscreen, popped in the relays, and activated via ELM on my Focus - well worth it in the winter :-)

Is the gasket of the engine cover and valve cover of focus st still in use? Bonnet spacers

Honestly if you’re going to raise your bonnett I’d do it with washers because you can set it to your perfect preference

Like it, great way to get the heat out. I'll be raising my bonnet 15mm at the rear when I finish the bonnet and get the aerocatch sorted. Must meet-up when I'm up in Plym dude!

They don't let much heat out at all. When the car is moving you have a high-pressure zone where the scuttle panel is so no air (hot or cold) comes out the bonnet there. Works for drift cars as they're going sideways and may let a little extra heat out when stationary but that's it. 99% of them are purely for looks not for function.

Does the rear strut make a big difference in handling? And is it a straight, plug and play fit of does it need modifications on the car?

Ebay - * rear wire caliper springs 2.5ST* and you will see a pair of shiny new bits to finish off your rear caliper paint job. £5.70 or so for a pair.

Hey mate like someone else said check the bonnet lifter bolts ever so often as i had them on mine and could see the bonnet shake when hit bumps other than that there great and gives you more induction noise

The horns look cool, but I honestly don't see why bonnet lifters are a thing. What purpose do they serve? It just ruins the body line at the side then makes it look like your car has had a crash and been bodged back together.

Keep temperatures lower and more noise .Not for me either but some people like the look.

I've just read up on this and it seems the only people that say it keeps temperatures lower are the companies that make them and the sheep that believe everything they're told. I've seen no actual evidence it makes any difference to the temperature. Even if they do lower temps, it makes no difference unless you're on the track so has been done purely for looks it seems. The engine bays are designed to disperse the heat down the bottom and adding that probably messes up the whole aerodynamics and causes the heat to be trapped in. The only reason I know this is because I know someone who installed bonnet vents in a stupid place and kept overheating on track when it was fine before.

@@zXLuke4efcXz yes a bit of a myth, I guess you only get more induction noise and a sporty kind of look.Not sure on what that bonnet would do in a crash. Probably go straight through the windscreen decapittaimg the driver.At high speed driving I would be worried this might happen.

Evening G, personally bonnet risers no no :( not trying kill your pig as you worked fitting them in the hot temps today but I think your car looked bloody ace without like the horns good touch of red upfront :) takecare you ... next door be like " hes been out again tinkering around with his mate and not shut bonnet properly shall we go round tell him" :)

@@GCMYT I had to use them on my S1 RS way back. Had to clear the larger intake manifold and throttle body and i hated the bonnet risers so much i modded the engine mounts to sit the entire block abit lower lol
