Sins of lust stem from a lack of trust in God. Will you grow in trust for God?
A Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary graduate, Father Dan Leary was ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Washington D.C. in 1997. Father Dan has always felt called to serve the poor throughout his priesthood. He has led numerous pilgrimages and organized groups to serve the poor throughout his priesthood. He serves on the board of Life-Giving Wounds ministry and is a sought-after Retreat Master known for his gift of healing.
In July 2020, Father Dan began serving the poor as Chaplain to the Sisters of Mary, a growing religious community founded by Venerable Father Aloysius Schwartz. The Sisters of Mary World Villages for Children practice charity to the poor, serving them with joy in the name of Christ Jesus by helping children break free from a life of poverty. The Sisters of Mary work to care for, feed, clothe, catechize, educate, provide medical care, and a safe place to live to more than 20,000 of the world’s poorest children each year. This loving care and education offer children new opportunities to live out their dreams by preparing them for a better future in their own country, culture, and environment at no charge to their families. The children receive catechesis, the grace of the Sacraments, and leadership training to equip them to act as evangelists in their families and communities, being a witness to their Catholic faith. The Sisters of Mary World Villages for Children work through 18 sites in 7 countries: The Philippines, South Korea, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Brazil, and Tanzania. As Chaplain, Father Dan is a spiritual father for 400+ Sisters of Mary, the 20,000+ children in their care, and the 150,000+ graduates of the program.”

Re forgiving God, what I think Fr means, the frustrations that we project onto God. His point on self forgiveness is so true. Thanks for this video. He said EVERYBODY falls in this area, not just us.

The most valuable thing in the world is time, in fact, the only thing in life that you CAN'T get back when you lose it is time, and that's where sexual temptation comes in, it's a waste of time, for two reasons, 1. You're not making any money having or thinking about sex. Thus making sexual temptation a waste of time. Because what are you going to do after you have sex? Ask God to forgive you with this dumb look on your face? And how much money have you missed out on earning while trying to think of a way to get this other person to help satisfy your "urge"? Is he or she paying you? Are they going to bring any kind of wealth or other financially meaningful things into your life? The answer is most likely no. Ultimately making it a waste of time. 2. It's all psychological. No man or woman on this earth has ever has a reproductive body part that looks any different, meaning if you've seen one pair of breasts, one vagina, one butt or one penis, you've seen them all, people just need to calm down for Christ sake🙄

Yes intellectually and theilogically thats true. But when our hearts have decided to keep God only in that realm, we can avoid real relationship with Him. We can all get angry with God for being Him when we get frustrated at things not going our way in spite of our best efforts to 'keep on his good side'. Forgiving God is very close to forgiving others. Forgive the Lord your God with all your heart, your mind your strength. And forgive the others as yourself. Try that and see what happens. You might discover that God's attitude to forgiveness is different to what we thought.
@eh4306
@eh4306 Жыл бұрын
@ausgoogtube01 that on the other hand is very bad theology. Forgiveness of others is nothing like forgiving God. You forgive others because they did something bad towards you. God does nothing bad. If you're angry with God, this is a lack of trust in God, it is not God needing forgiveness, it's us humans needing greater faith in the awesome holy God who is incapable of anything but goodness.

I think it’s more forgiving God, for the things that have hurt us. Being affected by natural disasters, mental or physical disabilities within the family, generational trauma. There’s this tendency/inclination to blame it all on a powerful being for not intervening to stop suffering that heavily impacts us once, or is a repeating occurrence that isn’t or can’t be changed. God did not do anything wrong. But in our pain, we don’t always see that. There’s a saying that says forgiveness isn’t for the person that hurt you, forgiveness is for yourself. I might be missing the mark a bit with this next line, but forgiving God is about saying “I no longer blame you for the suffering in my life.” That can be exceptionally freeing because as Christians, we are meant to draw strength from him and grow in deep relationship with him. How can you grow in relationship with someone that you feel hurt and betrayed by? (God does not betray us, we betray him when we choose a coping mechanism outside of looking to him for answers. But in an overwhelmed or wounded state, that’s not how we think. Especially when it’s a situation that we did not have a part in creating) That hurt has to be removed and healed before you can move on. in one of the ways that can be healed is to ask God where was he in the situation that brings you the most pain? What was he doing?

My issue is, sexual acts were a mere hobby of mine, thought it was normal and no wrong, until I became a Catholic, now it turned from a fun hobby, to a battle. "All I have to do is just not click on the websites" sounds easy, until my own body gets filled with that energy, and I do it, so the energy stops. I just wished that energy went away and didn't come back.

Me too, I can’t forgive my self for going on twitter every day and looking for this stuff and it sucks. I need some kind of way to get this feeling out of my body, but the sooner I waited, the harder it got, so I thought to myself “This isn’t going to go away by itself, I have to stop it, so I’m going to stop it as soon as possible by deactivating my account.” Thank you father, I will come back if I need more advice

Why would you need to forgive God? This implies that He led you to your downfall. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that, “He ALWAYS provides the way of escape” and James 1:13 says, “no man can say that God is tempting Him” So please repent, go to confession, and do your penance and your best intention to change. This is the best we can do and God honors this.

Why would we need to forgive God for what He has done that we don’t agree with. God has done something - maybe contrary to our own will - and that is because it is better than what we wanted. God knows much better than us what we need, and turning into our own desires and needs is turning away from God and not trusting him. This is called pride and it is a sin. We don’t need to try and understand what God is doing or not doing. Whatever he does - or doesn’t do - is always good for us, so let’s accept it and trust him entirely.

If I'm being honest about this, I can see that it is. Very often we don't pray, we don't seek, we don't realize that falling in sin is a friendship with evil. Sometimes therefore we have to chose 'hard' against it to maintain trust in our friendship with God.

“Forgive God”? Huh?? God does not need forgiving of any sort. This is extremely flawed theology.
@IceAge20017

I'll explain it better. God is perfect, and doesn't need forgiveness. But when God allows bad things to happen to us, we can sometimes feel like it is God's fault. That is why people sometimes curse God when they are going through hard times in their life. When he says to forgive God, he means to let go of those negative feelings we have against him. To return to a good relationship with him. Does that make more sense?
