I have an 2001 FZ! It has the famous jet kit. I replaced all my plastic with top of the line carbon fiber, stuck a titanium Yoshimura slip-on. Corbin carbon fiber leather seat. My bike was black and I added 4 coats of clear over the top with the first coat having violet pearl. spray over the carbon as well. I get tons of. compliments everywhere I go. It sat for 14yrs due to a fall I had (Construction). Well just retired and all my surgeries are done (Shattered ankles). I got it started and have put 3,500 miles on it the last 2 months. Love this bike!!!!! Im 65 and it's amazing how people come up and ask about it. It looks absolutely brand new. (Heated garage covered with blanket). Thanks for your post

My FZI was purchased in 2021. It's amazing!!! I spent 6,500$ for a bike with 1800 miles - yeah - no typo it was 1800 miles. Needless to say, it has had many logged miles since then. I ride every day if my health will allow me...I have a chronic condition ....If I can slip my helmet on,,,,,,,,, If I can latch it.........If I'm safe ------ Every time I wave my left hand at a rider on the road - it is a piece of heaven in this strip of asphalt....The little bike is amazing! I just added LEO Divincie slip-on and a tank bag. I honestly don't know my own expiration date - but I do know that this little machine has been amazing. And I love to ride it...

Good points. I haven't ridden the newer bikes, but quite a few from the mid 2000's back. I finally picked up a 1rst gen 2002 FZ1 this year knowing that I don't need it but it comes so highly recommended. I have to say it's just such a great bike all around. I was going to decide between it and my Hornet 919 but they are different enough. I live surrounded by twisty two lane roads as well as twisty mountain roads near Skyline Drive. So bikes like the SV650 are all I need. But I also enjoy a 2003 Nighthawk 750, Vulcan 750, and Intruder 800 to name three on these back roads. I've eliminated the 600cc and smaller bikes as well as the 1100cc and larger bikes. I'm working on reducing the herd from a couple of dozen bikes to a dozen. But it looks like the above are staying.
@chuckkelley58944 ай бұрын
I've been riding for decades. Currently, I have several bikes including a 2003 FZ1. Among the others is a 2013 Ducati Diavel AMG. If I could only keep one or the other of these I'd go with the FZ1. The Ducati, still under 10,000 miles, is a blast to ride but always a handful. It hates the city, slow speeds, and the absence of crazed laughter. Basically, anything under Mach IV and rubbing the print off the tires pisses it off. While fun and great looks, I still prefer the FZ. It's as perfect of a motorcycle as I've ever owned or ridden. If I think it the FZ just does it. With the Ducati if I think it It says, Oh, really, and then tries to kill me.

Nice video. For touring purposes the Fazer 1 (the one with the front fairing) is great. The MT10 is better in every other aspect: chassis, clearance, power delivery, suspension, brakes, electronics, looks. Both the FZ1 and the MT10 power wise are equally matched.

Mt10 is horrendous looking , bias opinion as I have a 09 fz1 made into a N . The N looks miles better than stock “full faired” fz1 … mine has some miles and was dumped by previous owner (small dent in tank at top and various small scratches here and there . But it suits me as now I’m not worried about “keeping it mint “. Imo with limited experience with it , just started riding it this season , with I think a tune ( but I don’t know) and a 47 tooth rear ( I don’t know about front & a fake yosh slip on from eBay …. It cranks and sounds awesome and not to uncomfortable… and getting 35-40 mpg makes it perfect for me

great little comparison review , Just reluctantly sold an fz1n 2007 and it was a great bike but high mileage and origanlly a cat c , on the market for a new one and I'm gravitating towards a newer fresh fz1 as all the competition in the naked class isn't bringing anything great to the table for the money apart from Quick shifter and slightly newer bike but the fz1 was great for a pillion too and the newer ones have less movement on the seats , so I'm thinking for 4-5 grand the fz1 is the best because I'm not sure the extra 3 grand is going to bring me to anything better, totally agree on reliable side , there's an mt10 on auto trader UK that's got 66,000 miles on it a 2016 plate and still holding it's value 👍🏼👌🏼
