The thought of being 100 meters underwater feels less psychologically terrifying, though I’ve already decided not to watch the movie because I have a deep fear of situations like that. Being trapped in a setting like the one in "Gravity" feels just as horrifying. Yet, it's odd how knowing it’s “only” 100 meters deep makes it slightly less dreadful, even though the risk to life is still there. Being so far removed from human lives and anything familiar. I think it's that isolation that’s so unsettling for me. I understand this story is based on true events, and I saw comments from the diver’s in-laws below. I mean no disrespect. Just sharing some thoughts I found psychologically interesting. At first, I thought it was set in the deep ocean, like Victor Vescovo’s expedition six miles below the surface.

This is what happens when your Captain is solely relying on Dynamic Positioning System of your ship. And its the Chief Engineer's job to keep the main and auxilliary engine going even on rough seas because without power, no matter how well designed your ship is, you have no power to maneuver and lessen the roll of the ship. And why are they in there if there is a storm coming. They shoul've have seen in even days before.
