The one truth that wears couples down, is keeping score. How many times must the same issue be addressed. Especially in long term marriages. Forgiving doesn't always mean forgetting. When you are under fire or in the fire, mentally, day after day and boundaries are not respected, you wonder if the treaty is broken & if you are broken. No one wants a full on war. Negotiations aren't always successful. But I am devouring this information on the battlefield right now. I am weary. Agreeing in prayer for Holy Spirit to lead me into truth.

My husband and I have just signed up for hope restored. We are so broken! With everything we’ve gone through and other couple not walking in Christ would have been done a dozen times over. Looking for a miracle!! 😢

I'm a marriage officer and of course have seen many unity candle ceremonies but wowwww I have never thought of it like that before and I must agree that he is totally right. The big mistake is that we often think that becoming one means to loose your individuality, but as I often say that if bother are exactly the same then one becomes redundant.

I believe growth is the goal. But, my husband hasn't grown in 36 years of marriage. He still doesn't take responsibility for his own actions. It's always someone else's fault. He lies and uses people and thinks it's okay because he doesn't "mean" to.

15:00 That vacation suggestion works. My wife and I did that on a cruise a few years back. Did an excursion on one day and then just relaxed the next day. That way you aren't exhausted when the trip is over but you've still had some fun experiences together.

My marriage is struggling. The spouse doesnt want to try and get a better job to better our situation (I'm working 2 pt jobs and homeschooling). The long hours we both work and the prioritization of my spouses work above our family has left me cold and bitter in our relationship.

I haven't seen the end to this yet , however, I have seen it from both sides of the coin and forgiveness is after the fact. However, to avoid having to be in a position of forgiving is to affirm and respect each other by showing appreciation for everything we each do! Appreciation is the glue of Love! With 'appreciation' having to forgive is seldom needed. If you are not grateful for the small everyday things, you will miss big ones, and no one wants to be with someone who doesn't notice their efforts to show them 'love'! A man's job is to provide and protect. If he is not doing that, you'll have to stop getting in the way of him doing just that, it makes them lazy, spoiled and ungrateful. Let him be The Man, so you can be The Lady! A man will love you for it! We all know 'you can do it', but he needs to know you need him or he will be easily led to find someone who does need, and admire his 'maleness'! I am grateful I have finally learned this precious lesson. 💌

I had no idea my marriage would revolve around his mother and sister. I’m last in everything. And to cover it all up, I’m looked at as the “villain” a white woman married to an Indian Sikh/Hindu man if that helps any.

Nkosinathi, we do ship to South Africa. If you'd like to receive the book, it is offered for a donation of any amount at the following link: bit.ly/39hxqTW. Please note that tracking numbers are not available for international shipments. God bless you!
@HS-ml8dx3 жыл бұрын
@@focusonthefamily Smallest donation on that link is $50, which means this book will cost at least R716 and it is not clear if that includes postage and shipping. That is more than you pay for a decent Bible in South Africa. It is also way more than the average South African can afford. So I think we'll give the book a pass and just listen to the teaching on KZbin.
