Well-meaning, loving and motivated parents often struggle with their teenagers - in part because our modern culture has created an extended culture far beyond logical or natural boundaries, while simultaneously worshipping our own youthfulness. Dr. Kenneth Wilgus challenges parents to think differently about how they raise their kids. You can find his book on our store here: store.focusonthefamily.com/fe...
He provides practical insights to help parents of teens and preteens better navigate the adolescent years with healthy interaction and boundaries, while giving their teens the opportunity to grow up.

I'm a 46 yo with a mother that still treats me like I'm a teen! Completely motivated by fears. It's never to late for that restart button, cuz that would thrill me!

I feel ya As the doctor said, its fear on your mums part. Fear is toxic. I didn't speak to my mum for 4 years, sad. But she stopped and other family members saw the truth how she was doing it to us all.

Every teenager need to think that in about 15 years time they are becoming parents themselves so they need to begin with the end in mind

Now hearing this, Jase Robertson has been doing the whole parenting thing kinda flawed. He likes to have total control of Mia's phone usage and what she does on her phone, despite her being in this age range. She is one of those that don't rebel or create disdain over it, but nonetheless you can't live through your kid like that.
