I have studied relationships for many years. I recently remarried a widow. She and I have come to the conclusion that ALL conflict comes through selfishness. We must put aside the "self" and become selfless when we are in any relationship, especially with a spouse/family. Deny thy self.

One of the best revelations in marriage is that I don't actually know how my husband thinks or processes life. He really is totally different than me. I love it more and more. I laugh and lighten up more now instead of simmering offence and resentment. I love that we're not the same.

My current situation mirrors their story. Professionally on a high but relationally at an all time low.

Thanks to the both of them for sharing their story. It will strengthen many. Like me. It helps us understand that struggles are not ours alone. God is with us thru them. He never fails. And in the end victory will be sweetest because of the deepest struggles. Marriages are tried very hard by the enemy and A lot rests in them. Leys keep the faith. "Fight a good fight". There's always a great reward for endurance. I wish you both nothing but the best. And thank you for choosing to stay your children will thank you on day.

I wonder how often perimenopause and menopause contributes to marital struggles. I am 47, and perimenopausal. It's hard. It affects my mothering and parenting, though I try for it not to, but there are times I am being completely irrational and angry at the smallest triggers.. It's super frustrating. Thankfully, my husband and family have had grace with me, but I can see how it could definitely affect marriages.

All I heard was me, pride, myself, narcissistic, and I, arrogance....Lord Jesus may we learn to die ourselves by the power of your blood, married or not married.😮

I don't know whether our marriage is going to make it. I cannot see the light at the end of this dark and lonely tunnel but I take it day by day and am determined not to do what my Father hates...

would be nice with all of your broadcasts u had closed caption included. frustrating to listen to a show and can't understand what is being said all the time due to hearing loss and it becomes a futile effort and eventually i just quit listening. one reason why i don't watch a lot of your broadcasts
