Күн бұрын

Linda Ranson Jacobs thought her life was going great - she and her husband were involved in their children and happily raising two kids. One day, without warning, her husband said he wanted a divorce and left. Linda went into shock - praying and begging him to return, but he didn’t. Linda was thrust into life as a single mom, feeling confused, scared and completely alone. Over the years, she raised her children as a single mom. Now, Linda comes alongside single parents to offer hope, practical parenting advice and ideas for setting healthy boundaries with former spouses. She also gives Christians practical ways they can minister to the single parents they know.

This was a wonderful program and so needed. Not enough support for single parents is coming from the church, which is a shame. Divorced parents are still stigmatized and made to feel unwelcome in the church. Little wonder they turn away from the Lord at a time when they need Him the most.

Dealing with this currently. My church makes me feel so left out and ashamed. Every function and everything they ever talk about is the marriage and the traditional family. I didn't go to church today because I just don't feel welcome there. And I have been at this church for many MANY years!

I’m 28. I’ve been a single parent for 8 years. I’ve been feeling burnt out and shame. I don’t want to do this anymore. I don’t feel like I belong in church. I’ve been trying to stay in church. It’s very painful and I’m tired.

I’ve been single mom for 13 years and I’m exhausted in every way. I’m just tired of this single mother hood . The worries and my anxieties is what drain me.

I’m so sorry that there’s not more active help, particularly in church. If you have the ability, could you reach out to bring awareness? I believe you are meant to lead in this area.

Thank you very much for this. I'm a single mom of three kids. My husband passed away and it's been so hard. I've just started reaching out to more of my Christian friends for support. Praying for healing.

Thank you so much for this I am there now two daughters aged 15 and 16 years old and I am a gentle person ,discipline is hard so I tend to go to extremes either too hard or too soft , I really struggle with the balance.

Looking forward to reading the book. It's challenging to choose to stay single at least till the kids are grown because there's little support for that choice. It's so encouraging to hear from a godly woman who's walked that path. Thank you.

Thank you very much for doing this broadcast. It is so powerful for her to share her testimony and share what Jesus has done in her life and how He’s covered her and her children. That she still stays close to Him and He gives her new dreams and adventures as He walks with her. It’s not that this journey of single parenting will be easy but He will equip us and we need to stay close to Him and under His Lordship to make it through each day and live life to the fullest with our children. It was incredibly encouraging for me when she said, “ God’s not done with you, no matter what happens.” Thank you so much for writing this book.📖 I can’t wait to read it. ♥️

So tempting to get bitter or give up when bad things happen, she's an amazing example to us all. Very emotional when she described caring for that young mum at the end. Wonderful interview from FOTF ❤🙏

I am a single parent and I appreciate this video so much. There are so many faithful followers of Christ that have helped me so much. I do feel that the church should do more to help single parents. When I am financially able that is exactly what I am going to spend my disposable income doing😊

This Podcast really hit home. I was also a single parent and it was incredibly hard. I’m thankful for my church family and all their support and for Focus on the Family for their wisdom during those very difficult times. I was blessed to hear this message today. Thank you!❤

The home didn’t break after the divorce, it was broken the second the husband’s eyes and heart looked away. Nothing’s lonelier than being in a relationship with someone whose heart is not with you. “Traveling a lot.” I never thought of Hagar being the first single parent ❤

Thanks so much, it's been 12yrs of a famble as a single mother, of which i did want to be part of the statistics but it here with me , what stood out for me is the" how"and not the why , this has given a new shift, and the prayer you made for children wanting them to be successful, now i know exactly what to do, can't wait to read the book. Thanks for talking out your experience.
