You can respond calmly and biblically when your child misbehaves! On this two day Focus on the Family broadcast, Jim Daly & John Fuller talk with Amber Lia and Wendy Speake about their book, Parenting Scripts. You can find their book here: bit.ly/2xST2UG
They discuss why parents need “scripts” (pre-thought out responses) to the common situations they face with their children such as: sibling rivalry, bedtime battles, sin, when their tone is angry, rude or whiny, and how moms can combat their own negative self-talk with scriptural truths.

So beautifully presented, this picture of God’s love and teaching, given through parents to their own children! I’m blown away by the loving and REAL applications of consistent and maturity-developing values presented here. Please share with your parent-friends who are in the trenches right now and need this wonderful encouragement and plan for win-win parenting.❤️

Wendy thank you so much for your parenting and all the practical idea with the parenting scripts. It's so inspirational and you bring influence through what you say and write! It's great I can share some of your ideas with women from my country ( Romania) Be blessed. Thanks also focus on family for the good guests you are bringing in. I have recently discovered your resources and as I am a parent of a toddler it's good to have all this good resources from the beginning. Keep up the good work!

I absolutely adore this show! There are so many things I want to take away from these parenting videos because I'm finding more and more every day that I have no clue what I'm doing! I share these videos with my husband and hope that he sees them to be as relevant as I do, but I don't think it "clicks" with him as much because so many are from a women's viewpoint. Is there any way you could have some dads discussing their strategies for parenting?

Is there any videos on ideas strategies of going into a relationship where the person you are with has their own kids that they share with someone else. So these kids are being shared back ans forward between 2 sometimes 3 or 4 households (grandparents). How do I cope with that kind of structure when no one even grown ups will listen to each other and refuse to only doing it their way.

Glockenspiel 223 There are shows from the father’s perspective! If you go to the Focus on the Family website (I think it’s family.org) you can go to the radio broadcast page and search different programs. They’ve also started posting them on KZbin so you might find some on their channel here as well. Dr. Kevin Leman is a great expert and speaker on parenting (he wrote the birth order book) and Dr. Kathy Koch has a wonderful perspective on really knowing your child’s heart. Dr. Meg Meeker is a pediatrician and a fantastic guest on Focus who has spoken from both the mother’s role and the father’s-you need to listen to her broadcast for sure! Kathy Lipp also speaks a lot on parenting (she specializes in blended families and organizing your home 😬) I’m not a parent but I like to learn and I’m also a teacher, so I apply what I learn to my lessons (when I can). Hope this helps! 😊 God bless you ✝️🙏🏼 Proverbs 3:5 💝

Way too much over anylizing. All these little emotions and feelings don't need to be categorized. I'm a parent who has two kids that are now in their 30's and well adjusted. Their mother and I didn't over anaylize everything. When your child misbehaves, you immediately respond with words that will shake the child into realizing they've done something wrong. Their guilt over doing what ever it was is appropriate.

Wendy Speake seems like a nice lady but she struggles with listening or allowing others to speak. Everytime the host talks she raises her voice and talks over him not allowing him to talk at all. Its very rude behavior. it got so annoying how she only wants to hear her own voice i couldnt finish and had to look up other videos about yelling moms. the Amber lady is very respectful and knows how to do an interview with true humility. Even when Wendy pretended to let host talk she was making constant side comments "Yes, sure, um hum, of course" Its hard to listen to people who only want to hear their own voice. I could listen to Amber all day. But Wendy if you are reading this please examine how you do interviews or talk in group settings. You can come off rude and know it all and its hard to really listen to the wisdom you are giving. Especially when you raise your voice to talk over someone. Sometimes he was just asking a question and she would raise her voice and keep going or ignore his question by going on and on. She doesnt know her surroundings and see that there are 3 other people in the room doing this interview. She acted like she was the ONLY one on. I can tell she is type A personality and so am I... but thats no excuse to not allow others to talk, make comments or put in their opinions too. That is definately something she struggles with and if she wants to be a voice for moms out there she needs to start learning to make changes.
