This lady is a true wonder, and for me the best jazz and soul singer going. She has stayed true to her spirit and it shows in the joy she radiates in this wonderful performance. Indeed the whole band of musicians here are just exceptional. Her recent live album "Holding Space" is one of the best live albums you will hear.

For me that's the best concert at least what I could find of her on you tube She is so relaxed having fun and in full command of her instrument: this incredible soul stirring voice and then that smile. The band is outstanding I can't hear this concert often enough

Rose Kamama I so agree with you. I was there, about 15 feet from the stage. I discovered her in 2003 when she performed at the Syracuse Jazz Festival. It POURED and we were soaked to the skin, but this beautiful voiced, tall and graceful woman took the stage...opened her mouth...and out came gorgeousness. I’ve seen her three times since, and she never disappoints.

Lizz just when you have me addicted to your upcoming Grace version of "Seems I'm Never Tired of Lovin You" and wondering how you were going to deliver this without background singers....your organist starts it off churchy, then you floor me with that breakdown at (33:00) ; then you have me swooning for two minutes...how wonderful a rendition. Nina...should and would be so proud of how you interpret that song. I absolutely love your work and have seen you several times over the years....the last being at Jacksonville Jazz Festival last year. Look forward to you "Gracing" us in September. I don't usually like women with low voices, but their class, interpretation, soft sensuality, a great repertoire ... they've earned me. A beautiful woman with a charming smile. As they said below, a bass player would be good for your music ... it's missing.

@@davidwarren9458 I know, my friend. But it will never sound like a real bass player. Just like synthesizers try to imitate the sound of guitars, violins, drums or wind instruments ... to my ears they never ring true. Jam Hammer has already done this even trying to copy the type of phrasing and typing of guitarists, in a very convincing way. But I always wondered: What the hell, since he wants a guitar sound, why not call a guitarist for the band?
@Seventysongs4 жыл бұрын
@@oboyoh3960 Yes, man. But I would like to know that there is no harm in enjoying listening to instruments being played by musicians who specialize in them, in this case, against bass and bass players. It is not about being ignorant in the genre, because one or another musician gives up a certain instrument to make his music. I still prefer a bass or any other instrument being played and not imitated.
@Seventysongs4 жыл бұрын
@@oboyoh3960 I understand, I am a frustrated bass player and I don't play keyboards either. But do not invalidate other formats if the music is good ... even if I get irritated to "listen" to an instrument and not see it lol
