Pretty happy with our old fodsport M1. Had it about 4yrs now and 4 of us have used it on a couple riding trips. Yeah theres been a few issues on the odd occasion, but really, for the price, cant complain. I'd get one again when the time comes. But they're still going strong.

Another great review Josh. I have been a Cardo Fan before their pricing exploded. But these units, pretty much function the same (although Cardo has some other functions ie DMC). Re my music: I vary the sound volume (music only) via the phone to get the balance normalized in the helmet. 👍😁

Adjusting the volume on these pops up the volume thing on the phone so it seems to be the same thing 🤷‍♂ either way cheers mate you've got me listening to music these days on the boring fast sections anyway 😁😁

Hi Josh & Nat another cool vid review, i saw the review on the v6+ as well, like you i went for the old v6 model for my Zumo turned both volumes up planned a root & my god when the nav spoke thought my eardrums were going to blow out, so there plenty loud enough , perfect for my set up, ATB Guys Wayne UK............

Yeah the 1200m original gangsta V6 is the go, about the same loudness as these FX8 👌 and slightly more range.

Good review! Definitely picking one of these up in a few days. I had a Sena 5S 2 years ago, the battery life was shocking, the Bluetooth connection to my phone was very unreliable (random disconnects and refusing to pair sometimes.) and to top it off, it died from the rain after only 8 months…. For my needs, this FX8 Air seems a much better buy for less than half the price of that Sena.

We've bought 6 x M1-S pro's between us with no problems so far. I wear Earmolds and have my volume on full and can hear clearly up 100kph. Without ear plugs I would only have the volume at half. The only downside so far is there is no audio output, only audio in so I can't use the Earmold audio system for better sound. The audio in would only be used for something like a UHF radio because I could clearly hear my mates GPS instructions through my earphones. We just did a 4 dayer and got 2 full days out of the battery with still more left. I would even say we could have got 3 days of use from the batteries. One thing I did notice using comms is that we are never actually riding more than 100m apart most of the time so the 1km range didn't really come into play. Something I've never noticed until watching your range test.

I stumbled across your video while trying to find reviews on Fodsport products. I'm always amused by the fact that I can tell when a video is shot in australia (other than the accent, the lighting and colours just look a certain way). I didn't pay much attention to the poster in the background (until after the video and coming back to comment) and skipped through the first part of the video to the test ride. I often try and see if I can figure out what city/town it's in and if i can recognise anything if it's a place I've been. Well the traffic lights didn't give me much help, but as soon as i saw the show grounds i knew exactly where you were. I'll have to check out some of your other videos (gotta support another local). I just flicked through your vids and saw you are giving one of these away. It's just a shame I won't be able to get enough info to enter the draw

@@MVDBR yeah it was thanks. I'm just looking for something to use to listen to music and maybe take a phone call. I'm currently using bluetooth headphones (bone conducting ones which actually work well with ear plugs). They are good for music but are no good for calls. I won't be riding with anyone as a lot of the time I'll just be commuting to work in noosa or just going for a spin around town. And in typical small town style, i recognise the number plates in the background of the video too (if they were on a green hatchback). I used to live 2 houses from the units over in the james nash area (for privacy reasons I'm not mentioning street names).

Good review josh I thought about the fx8 air but I ended up getting the other fx8 and I’m pretty happy with it haven’t used it for intercom yet only for music 🎶 with ear plugs still ok also easy to use when you need to turn it down or pause music in a hurry rather than push a button constantly, and the buttons are spaced out which is good 👍 thanks 😊 wow that’s the longest comment I’ve ever written shit 😂

We have the same problem regarding the auto re connect. It might depend on which unit (master/slave) is moving out of range.... Did you guys have the "flag" antenna pulled out for the range test?

I'm pretty sure it's set to answer automatically by default, but you can turn that off. Then you just press the big button to answer 👌

I had a pair of FX8 AIR Intercom mode both mic seems it capture all sound around finally can not hear each other. Phone call, music is normal

The fx4 pro reconnects fast beeps twice and then deep tone beep and your reconnected. Lower profile as well .distance is the same as in this test video

Yeh not really near every weekend it's rain 😑 and my tires were not the best. but just fitted fresh rubber on both bikes and serviced 15klm on the T7 keen if sun stays out.

Not 100% sure but I think only phone and another comms unit, but there is an audio cable that can be plugged into a GPS if you use a separate GPS unit rather than just maps on your phone.

Hello there, interesting review, I bought the headset, but unfortunately at 90 mph and up I can't hear loud enough even though the headphones are well placed, the volume on my cellphone and headphones on lovely. What should I do?

To be honest I haven't had the opportunity to use the intercom function much at all, but I have taken phone calls while riding and the person at the other end of the call didn't even know I was on the bike 😏 Calls work very well.

Just tested them out .... in the wind very surprising how it kept the wide out , only issues thr mic sound tinny and scratchy on play back when recording . How do you get the Fm radio to work ... 🤔
