There's just something about Lin Hun and his team animating fights with weapons that's so incredibly satisfying to watch. It's awesome when these characters go Super Saiyan of course, but the close hand to hand combat scenes and sword/spear fights just hit different.

It would have been excellent to see this type of work in Naruto Shi. a fight this incredible with madara vs hashirama maito vs madara. naruto and sasuke vs madara. 90% of shipuden was average to bad animation. with few exceptions.

100% agree. “Tethered Blade” or something along those lines. He basically took the “this weapon is an extension of yourself” to a ridiculous level of awesome. Never before seen & won’t ever be recreated this masterfully.

@@siege1240 well the weapon is called a naginata, it’s essentially a bladed staff. It’s almost like it moves with an elemental chain or whip. It’s just a fluid movement that lends itself to that animation. You’re right too, we probably won’t see that again for a while. Chinese animation is just different when they’re locked in

There is an ancient Chinese saying that goes' both man and horse are broken ', which means that the Chop Saber, a giant weapon, can cut horses and people into two pieces, but there is no physical object or picture. At 1:10, although short, this sequence is amazing and underated. This fighting style (floating sword) is super common yet ive never seen it executed as logically and fluently as in this scene. Especially if you slow down playback to 0.25x, you can see the usage of kocks, punches, body spins and mvoement inertia that all blend into the blades momentum and direction. How insane is it to even inagine this choreography
