foggy autumn woodlands landscape photography on Sony a7C II, filmed with Canon R6

Filmed on Canon R6 and RF 24-105mm f4L lens, I touch upon my experience of moving from Canon to Sony. Having been a Canon user for many years, I decided to dabble in the Sony ecosystem.
I picked up the Sony a7C II and paired it with the FE 20-70mm F4 G lens and FE 70-200mm F4 G II Macro lens. I envision this combination to be excellent for travel - landscape and vlogging.
Excuse my croaky voice, I'm recovering from a cough and cold. I made this video as a way to document my experience and not intended to be a review.
All images are straight out of camera JPEGs with no editing done to them. All images were shot at 33 megapixels with no cropping.

I picked up the 20-70 4 as well with my a7c ii and I'm really enjoying the combo when hiking around. Also, loved your thoughts on putting your work out there before you feel its perfect.

Nice! I considered the new 16-35mm f/2.8 but I already found 20mm to be quite wide enough and I like that it's lighter. And glad to hear you resonated with my sentiments on sharing work.

@@lewcehjitl3282 There is a rangefinder EVF, which is differently positioned from the Canon R6 EVF, and it's been easy to adapt to. However, Sony a7C II only has 2.36M dots (Canon R6 has more).

great images! definitely good points on documenting the journey. part of learning is watching and evaluating progress. Also as a Canon & Fuji shooter, one of the lenses in the Sony system I'm most envious of is that 20-70 f/4. Just looks so, so practical.

Thanks Brian! It's very practical. The 20mm end is wider than I normally use but can come in handy if you happen upon an ice cave or tight spaces :)

Beautiful and honest video. Loved it! Sorry if i missed in video, but why you prefer canon R6 video more? I planing to buy sony a7c II myself soon as a compact hybrid camera. Sold my canon r5 and all the L lenses few years ago.

Thanks for watching! Yeah I didn't express myself too clearly there. I don't necessarily prefer the R6 for video. In that moment I had just gotten the a7C II and I was trying to familiarize myself with taking photos with it. The original intent of the purchase was to use it only for video, but I became so drawn to how well it performed with photos too. I've used the Sony ZV-E10 for video extensively so I was quite confident that it'll do fine in that regard. These videos are always tricky to make; most viewers expect the video to be made by the camera you're talking about, eh?

Do you enjoy the Sony experience more than Canon? I'm trying to decide between the a7cii or r6mark 2.

Personally, I enjoy the output of Sony, but I'm still learning to get used to the physical handling of the a7C II (there is no joystick to quickly move your focus point, and that's something I valued in the Canon R6). The output of Canon is great for photography, and I'm not an expert at video but I think it's decent (maybe not as good with eye autofocus as Sony). For you, try to assess: if you're shooting fast-paced material like street and weddings, and you need to change your focus point, how quickly can you do it with either one? It might not matter if you have everything set to eye auto focus, but you may want to take control of what you want in focus and the speed at which you can wrangle your dials and buttons is what could set you up for success. If it doesn't handle well in your hands, it won't matter how good the features are.
