Nice Video and thanks to the person that posted the Beutal tape and Urethane sealer. I got a quote yesterday from a local repair shop of $750. I'll be giving this a try soon.

The most important part of the video and you can’t hear or understand a word of what he’s saying... what is the tape he put in between the glass panes?? And what is the thing he put with the caulking gun??

What year is your coach? I have an 09 42QBH that has about 7 windows that are not only fogged, but etched - to the point that I'm sure the glass will have to be replaced. I've sent an email to Tiffin to get pricing for the windows, and am researching DIY solutions - but getting replacement glass will probably preclude me from any DIY efforts. Did they put any desiccant between the panes to prevent condensation from reforming? I would think that with just regular air inside, and the lack of any hermetic seals, it's just a matter of time before the dew point between the panes will increase enough to form condensation.

Hey thanks for this video, our 04 coach has a fogged window on driver’s side. I’m a bit intimidated to try it myself, the only option I have seen is shipping to Florida for repair.
@RVingwithAndrewSteele5 жыл бұрын
I have also heard people say that they just bought a new window and it was similar in cost to having the foggy window repaired. depending on what model coach you own, I would check with the manufacturer to see if you can just buy a new window. It may be similar and cost to having a defogged. Taking the window in and out is fairly easy

Do you have to replace the nitrogen or gas that goes in between the panels?
@jrupinsk4 жыл бұрын
No the spacer tape used between contains a dessicant which creates the dry air space
@craigcorbin40984 жыл бұрын
Need Parts to do this? I've bought the wrong spacer twice now in 3/16 thickness. Once in grey, once in black. Will happily sell either for half what I paid. Message me. I can also show you where to order the remaining pieces to complete the DIY. I also have the 3/16s sealant adapter.

Mobile RV glass, they are on Facebook. They're based out of Phoenix in California but have a pretty big network.

I don't remember what they charged but it seemed reasonable. I think around $2-300 power window but don't quote me. They have a whole bunch of different variables.

very nice video these guys are a hundred percent correct waste of time doing single seal on moving vehicles ridiculous you can get away with it if it's solid window aluminium frames but when you've got just a single piece of glass hanging off a frame less window it's ridiculous wondered half and don't fall off in some of my windows on my RV they put the joint right at the top so course waters going to find it's way in the reason RV Windows fail is because they only have internal seal they don't have the secondary seal because when they expand in the heat and the cold the little joint part open up and then can suck in moisture i have worked for a glass double glazing company for the last 35 years I've never seen anything so stupid and people are correct saying that they can fail vibrating down the road cos it's only relying on the butyl glazing flexistrip {0nly ment to be used on difficult shaped windows ans should always be secondary sealed} holding them together no secondary steal which is crazy for a moving vehicle I've had 2 dual pane Windows fail on my RV because the drain holes got blocked and the primary seal failed with the water we cannot toughened 3 mm glass or do 4 mm spacer at work so end up putting 10.38 laminate in works a better and looks better than ugly looking spacer on small little window sliding windows they are open but as for sound and conversation they make a huge difference my next door neighbor has got the same unit and he's got single glass and there's no comparison between the two a lot quieter and nowhere for the condensation to get in so definitely worth the upgrade for dual pane so if your double glazed windows with single seal which you can tell when you're open them you can only see the spacer with butyl on it make sure you clean the drain holes regularly

That’s funny. My same window had fogging and moisture in it too. I called tiffin and installed a new one instead of repairing the old one. Also replaced the one at the bottom of the door as well. Only one more to replace and that’s the passenger seat window. That one is $$$.
@RVingwithAndrewSteele5 жыл бұрын
How much did it cost you for a new window from Tiffin?
@jlipcovich5 жыл бұрын
RVing with Andrew Steele it wasn’t much. I believe it was couple hundred for the top one and a hundred something for the smaller bottom one.
@RVingwithAndrewSteele5 жыл бұрын
@@jlipcovich very good info! I appreciate you sharing that. There was still a few minor imperfections in my window from calcium stains so I would have rather gone that route but this way it was probably a little more cost-effective.
@jlipcovich5 жыл бұрын
RVing with Andrew Steele the one by the passenger seat is like $400ish since it has an opening window in it. I did the door glass since I could barely see out of it at times. Humidity here in south Florida I’m sure contributed some. I’d like to try repairing it myself first but not sure how that would turn out. Lol. Should have kept the old ones to practice on. 🙄
@RVingwithAndrewSteele5 жыл бұрын
@@jlipcovich After watching these guys, I could probably get it done but it is pretty time consuming, and would be much harder for me then these guys that do it every day.

35 years doing double seals on rv windows or residential and commercial windows that don't vibrate like a MFR going down the road? Most seals last max 2 years regardless of how well they're made, materials involved etc.... but their is a company that makes solid laminated windows that can't ever fog up, just have to spend 💰 🤑 🫏. House windows fail all the time and it's a whole different profession that i won't even leave a comment on because I DON'T DO IT.
