@groovedohg Жыл бұрын
I have been a fan since my older brother first bought Night Shift in the 70s. Foghat is one of the few of my favourite bands I never saw live. Would have been easier if I lived in good ol USA. However, to see and really experience Foghat, Lonesome Dave had to be in the mix. Charlie Huhn I was never a big fan of, but the latest incarnation with Scott Holt is imho rather sad and actually is devaluing the legacy of a once truly mighty force. Yes, I would still go and see the current lineup if given the chance, but as I say, Foghat, like so many other bands in the 70s, had to be seen and heard in the 70s. The 80s onwards damaged a lot of once great bands
@johnpinna Жыл бұрын
@@groovedohg There was another iteration of Foghat playing at the time I saw Lonesome Dave's version - and i have to agree - the Dave version was FAR BETTER! I remember at the time not understanding why there were multiple Foghats I am curious about seeing the current lineup
@groovedohg Жыл бұрын
@@johnpinna Yes. My last upload of a month ago was Roger Earls Foghat from 1993. Its just not the same, but again, so many fans will be curious and end up going. I was a huge STatus Quo fan in the 70s. I saw them as a teenager in 1976. They were my ultimate band. I saw them again in the 80s and 90s, but it was a shadow of the once great band. The classic original lineup reformed for what was known as the Frantic four tour. They actually played in my city (Dublin) which was their last ever gig. I couldnt force myself to go, as it is just not the same. The bass player, Alan Lancaster, who actually sang really well, was rooted to the spot as he had a crippling disease (MS I believe) and he died a few years ago from it. The Rolling STones will no doubt tour again due to their new al bum, but I feel sorry for the people who fork out 100s of dollars to get a ticket just to tell their grandchildren I saw the Stones. At least people like Robert Plant are being real and not acting like they are still 20 years old.
