My first concert was black Sabbath heaven and hell tour in 1980. It was in Aloha stadium in Hawaii. The line up was Black Sabbath, Blue oyster cult, and Molly Hatchet. I was called the summer '80 blow out. Black sabbath was last to perform just when the sun started to set and into the night. The sky was at first a magnificent red and orange, there was a giant puffs of smoke rising from back of the speakers as the coughs from sweet leaf started....and the band appeared to the song of sweat leaf....RJD had a black witches gown with red lining...it was magical. Everybody was passing joints. Its something that I will never forget! Thanks RJD, BLACK Sabbath for a wonderful memory....I stole my uncles stash of pot and took it to the concert....he never said anything but I think he knew it was me.....heh, heh he is a cool uncle! I feel sorry for kids now a days who will never know the power of real rock n roll!

Wasn't he the most down to earth guy ever? I met him on several occasions. I live in Hollywood, we share acquaintances....super nice guy. He remembered me and my name from there on. Loved him so much. And this is a sin, but I prefer Ozzy/Sabbath...but I'll love DIO for life. There wasn't a single wicked, selfish or egotistical bone in that tiny body. I've met quite a few rock stars in my day working in music...DIO remains close to my heart. I was devastated when I heard of his passing. I was out of town, of course, when he past. I've been to his grave MANY times. Laid devil horns up his tomb. His friends will join him soon enough. SABBATH FOREVER!!!!!!!!

I mourned when Ronnie passed away. I will mourn when Ozzy, Geezer and Bill's time comes. However, when Tony's time comes, I will likely have a nervous breakdown. There is not another guitar player like him, nor will there ever be another like him. He is my favorite of all, standing above David Gilmour, Dave Murray, George Lynch and Michael Schenker.

Dio would be 77 years old if we was still living (in late 2019). The fact that he could still sing so well even into his late 60s is testament to how great of a talent he truly was, not to mention how seriously he took his craft and cared for his instrument. It's heartbreaking to think of the fact that he was already suffering from cancer when this was filmed, even if he did not know it at the time.
@MarkAlan-no7mb7 күн бұрын
He knew he was sick. He was angry at the disease. He turned it into fuel to keep going because he loved his art but he really loved his fans so he pushed himself. Just a little giant of a man. R.i.p. Ronnie James.
