It's that time of year again where I post my annual song from the Foglands OST! The game keeps chugging along, but it's still not in a playable state. Regardless, I think I've really started to nail down exactly what I want the game to be like in terms of mood and gameplay. With any luck, I'll be able to push out some actual game-related stuff in the coming months. You kick in the back door to the dance club, phase rifle charged and shouldered. The patrons flee, screaming bloody murder as they pass. The stench of spilled drinks and spilling blood grows more and more intolerable as you approach the dance floor. There, illuminated by the floor lights and already burning the bodies is your target, the unnamed psycho, holding the club's DJ at range with a disruptor pistol. Although in plain clothes, you can tell by the way his holocloak flickers and glitches during his more strenuous movements that he is concealing his true appearance, obfuscating his physical potential. As the last corpse hits the flame, he turns his attention to you. Still pointing his disruptor at the DJ, he barks his order, though not at you. "Noise maker! Play my song. Then I'll let you leave us..." Sweating bullets, he wordlessly obliges, placing a small storage device into the sound system before fleeing. To your surprise, the madman not only keeps to his word, but he also tosses the disruptor into the nearest fire, never breaking eye contact with you as it deactivates and burns unceremoniously on the abdomen of an unknown victim. The music begins, the admittedly funky beat pounding against the walls as you stare him down through the optics of your gun. Quickly, the man raises his right arm and holds it in front of himself, assuming what you believe to be an attack posture. You pull the trigger, finding out far too soon that something has remotely disabled your weapon. Frustrated, you draw your knife and approach the sick bastard, ready to end him there and then. The beat picks up, more synthesized instruments join the soundtrack to this bounty, and he halts you with a glare halfway down the dance floor. There, before your very eyes the madman begins... ...absolutely *Killin' it.*
