Loved it thanks for sharing, next time try the smallest wing you can, this way we can make our mind. You are 88kg with spitfire 960 (Wich is around 1200cm2 area) lets see if you could use an 850 to 1000cm2. This would be helpful for us as we know your weight.

Nice one Mike. Maybe you can do a lollow up video diggin in deeper on the specs (battery capacity, motor power) and most important riding time with different set ups and conditions. Another important info (and possible differentiation/selling point would be if both or even only the light battery fits specifications for airtravel.I’m a little bit nervous about the magnetic prop lock system. I wouldn’t mind a safety screw there… I think this is a great improvement and also looking forward to a similar concept being developed by Flying Rodeo 🤙🏴‍☠️

Magnetic prop is fine, I never heard any issues in 2 years that I follow foldriver owners group. No screws needed, it's much easier this way to open and clean it up! Battery in the new systems are no airplane friendly unfortunately. The old FD+ system had airplane battery. As for riding time - it depends on too many factors like rider weight, conditions, wing, board size, wind etc, it's impossible to give any numbers. I would say it's more than enough with a MAX battery to have a good session. I am tired faster than the battery rans out :)

Nice review as always!!! the batteries are not allowed on airplanes, unless it´s CARGO plane. How this kit got here, Portugal, and how much the final price once we need to pay customs ?

Thank you! Batteries not allowed for personal travel yes. But when you order online you get by DHL or Fedex which obviously allow batteries in courier services, so it's not a problem. You can check prices on their website. I paid extra import tax and customs fees, around 800 eur extra. They plan to open EU office next year!

Great review. Is the small battery probably still to big for taking on an airplane? Because this system is great for travel.

Unfortunately it’s not airplane friendly. But old fd+ has airplane friendly batteries

We are working on extending our battery range to offer airline friendly Gen2 batteries ! Some airlines have different restrictions so worth checking what their limitation is.

@@foildrive that’s great - if the battery could be broken up into a couple smaller pieces and clipped together with waterproof plugs inside the housing it would be the perfect world travel device with a short board! Even if you got there and there was no wind, your vacation could still be salvaged on e-foil.

Wow. How would you compare this with a lift 4 ? Would you make a video about this ?

I sold my Lift long ago and switched fully to foildrive. I did a big comparison on foildrive to efoils in the past and covered everything in every detail.. Lift 4 is same as lift 3 and other efoils, it's MUCH more powerful than foildrive but also twice as heavy so it's up to the rider if they want power or they want a light weight system that is compatible with all the gear!

Really nice walk through of the gen2. For flat water pumping on the lake, what do you think optimal board size would be with gen2. I am about 70 kg and can pump 30 seconds on my old setup with 60 liter board

Yes.. Axis made integrated mast, i mentioned and showed it several times in the video :) not only cedrus anymore. Extra wire you will cover with black duct tape, it's not a problem. But I dont see why you would not want an integrated mast. Just get it , less drag and no need for duct tape! Cheers!!!
