I follow and watch tons and tons of football analysis here on the ole' YooToobs, and I've seen and respected you two separately for a while now - but y'all are a great team, better than just the sum of two great parts. No egos, not trying to make hot takes - just pure football and the most care and logic on what we're seeing each week. Keep up the great work, guys, I'm here for it all! Football 301 is A+++ 💪

Joe Burrow being cooked so young in his career over a freak injury is the biggest robbery from the football gods we will experience.

There are now multiple football talking heads that mentioned this DJ Moore frustration, and I got to say it’s absolutely much ado about nothing. What he took his helmet off aggressively? Didn’t even slam it on the ground. If he had issues and frustrations he would absolutely talk with Caleb and unapologetically tell reporters about it later. Even though he stated his support for Justin Fields while fields was still with the bears he also was very supportive of Caleb once he was drafted. He’s a professional and not some jaded high school student. Hearing Daniel Jeremiah say it was a slight to Caleb came off as a person who hasn’t paid attention to DJ Moore and his responsibilities to the media. He was honest about his misgivings with Luke Getsy last year in multiple interviews and radio appearances DURING the season. He also was reported to be very honest about last year’s offensive staff in the end of year meetings. If there was an actual problem with Caleb we would hear it from him after he talked with Caleb.

He’s pissed off because he wants to win guys. He wants to ball out in big games and if you look at some of those missed plays, they were really close. He’s not at mad at Caleb, he’s mad they let the defense down and lost to a team he feels like they should have beat

When I saw Burrow attempt to throw the football on the sideline after hurting that wrist last year and how he reacted afterward, I was as sad for a player as I ever have been... That wrist is not 100%, and it might not be for a long while. Whatever exactly was injured in there was something affects every single throw he makes in a major way. Sending that guy all the best vibes and love that he heals to 100%, because he's every bit as good a dude as he has been a QB.

Lions Holding two great offenses to 20pts back to back, their offense should score more than 20pts a game. I blame the loss to Tampa on the Offense 100 percent. Red Zone in particular, some bad play calling, a coaching mistake at the end of the 2nd and Goff turning the ball over.

I think if we had All Access or all-22 we'd find that Bowles did something to throw off Johnson's schemes. Every time I watch some analysis channel break it down I think "they send Amon-Ra on about 2 routes a game & one minor adjustment would eliminate both." First play *should have been* an illegal contact penalty. After that though, Goff's problem at least still is that once things don't go according to scheme he Does Not Adjust. So I don't really know if the rest of the game was him, the OC or both.

@@ChewsCarefully I think on the second to last drive when we got into the redzone and it was first fown on the Bucs 12yd line, we threw the ball 4 times in a row. That was the biggest mistake I thought I saw. Goff definitely isn’t going through his reads as good as he did last year so far this year. There’s a lot of plays where he misses the wide open reciver and tries to force the throw to his first read but the reciver isn’t really open and is being bracketed. I think the Bucs had a great game plan on defense and they adjusted better than Ben Johnson and the Lions did. Lions Red Zone offense killed them this game.

@@Motor-City_Ben-Diesel You know it's funny, I don't think _Bowles_ likes making in-game changes & may honestly prevent *his OCs* from making adjustments on offense in games. But I only _suspected_ Johnson may be like this as well. Simply put, no one system is perfect. Some people are the way they are & can't control it. He hasn't done it yet this season, but Kyle Shanahan changes the play-sets he runs a few minutes into the 3rd quarter of Every Game & stays locked into the new sets, whatever they are. I didn't even watch the NFL until '22 so I wasn't aware of 28-3. I just noticed this then looked out for it. It's as consistent as any serial killer's ritual. It's simply harder to spot what defenses are doing because of the way the games focus on only the QB. So we can't see what anyone else is doing. Anyhow, we'll have to 'wait & see' if this was One Game or an overall trend.

@@ChewsCarefully if you watch Goff so far this year he just looks uncomfortable and isn’t going through his progressions as well. Plus this game we had him throw 55 times. You never want to do that in this offensive scheme with Goff. Even when Vita Vea went out our run game was never consistent enough to lean on it continuously. There would be a missed block from an offensive lineman or wr on a screen pass or a zone run and it would kill the play and we’d get zero or negative yards. Every time we got into the redzone we would get into a 3rd and long so we’d have to throw and the Bucs had great coverage in the redzone since the field gets more condensed. We’d had a good run for 6-8 yards and then a negative play for -5 yards. Just not the best performance for our offense as a whole. Goff was trying to play hero ball on those 3rd and longs to keep the drive going and made a bunch of very dangerous throws that shouldn’t have been throw there and could’ve been picks. Goff knows he needs to minimize those and play a cleaner game but the rest of the offense needs to play cleaner as well to help Goff out.

@@Motor-City_Ben-Diesel From your description it sounds more like a failing on the Lions' part at multiple levels. Which is unlikely. You hear a lot of stories of fire alarms getting puled at the hotels visiting teams are staying at, & when a team breaks down like this, that's the reason. But this was a home game. Times like this I wish I had time & $ for All Access or all-22.
