I always leave the head end tied to the tree and roll it up from the foot end as it hangs. Keeps it off the ground. I disconnect the spreader bars first and remove the mat. If it is raining and I have a tarp up it keeps me and the hammock dry. It is a bit of a faff but it rolls up nicely and fits the bag; especially the new one with the three piece shock corded bars. I throw the foot end strap and carabiner into the roll as it gores and the head end strap wraps around the roll as I finish off. This means set up is simply unroll the strap, hook up to the tree, unroll and then hook up foot end strap. Again, with a bit of juggling you can do it without laying the hammock on the ground but easier if you have a friend hold it while you do the straps. It remains, whichever way tou roll it, the fastest set up and take down unit I've ever had.

If camping in the rain would you fold it up differently? Normally I keep wet packed separately from dry.

If the ground is wet or muddy, you can detach just one of the straps and keep the other one up while folding it in the air. It's a bit harder and you might not get the neatest roll, but it gets the job done. You could separate the tent from the hammock to separate wet from dry, but that gets the hammock wet in the process if it is still raining. If the hammock needs to be packed when wet, the best choice is to let the sides down and close the bug net, just the way it is hung when raining, and give it a good shake to loose as much water as possible. That way, the dry upside of the hammock meets the dry inside of the tent and the wet surfaces are kept away from the dry. The fabric is polyester and not nylon. Nylon absorbs water, but polyester does not. When you set it up again after folding it wet, it will be just as wet as when you packed it, but it will dry out faster than nylon because the water is on the surface of the fabric. Remember to hang it to dry when you get home so you don't store it wet for a longer period of time.

The current color is spring green. It blends in very well with oak leaves in the spring and also with blueberry bushes. We have a large demand for darker shades of green that blends in with summer and fall leaves as well as pine and fir trees, so we will make it in one or two darker shades of green. We also, believe it or not, have a demand for pink, so you can actually get it in bright pink too. Very stylish but not very discreet! Easy to spot by a search and rescue team in case you are lost.
