My brother and I and my friends went to ECW arena all the time because we live close to philly. It was a great environment and the time that Mick spent there was some magic time in ecw. Everyone who was great was there at that time. Sabu Taz Shane Douglas Raven Mick fuckin Foley. I honestly still do have a cactus Jack shirt hanging in my closet that was sold to me at ECW arena by Lita. Has it turns out we also live very close to hamburg, the fieldhouse. I've seen many wrestling matches there including ecw. I have a fond memory of sitting next to the concession stand and Bam Bam Bigelow with a broken arm going to town on the hot dogs in there. Good times

It was the Silver Nugget. The Desert Death Match. Then there was the original steel cage war. Then the second steel cage war that also involved Virgil and Mr Hughes. I was at almost all of those shows for the NWC here in Vegas. Fun fact a lot of those shows are now up on KZbin. I knew about Cactus Jack but the NWC was my introduction to Sabu and he became one of my favorites. And yes, he made me numerous. So much so I passed on my chance to have my photo taken with him. I so deeply regret that now. I wanted to be a wrestler after I had a run in the army but I ruined my back and it was never to be. But I still have the memories and this brings me back to happier times. Another fun fact RVD was in a tag team here and I totally forgot about that until I watched the old videos.

I know what Mick means when he talks about Bobby Heenan sometimes not knowing when to draw the line with the comedy. A good example being the Shawn/Marty Barber shop angle. When Shawn throws Marty thru the window Heenan lets out this incredibly well delivered "OH MY GOD". Like what Shawn did stopped Bobby Heenan from being Bobby Heenan for a second because what he did was so brutal and shocking. Then 10 seconds later he ruins it with the "Did you see that? Jannetty tried to dive through the window to escape". It is a funny line i'll admit that but he didnt need to do it, it needed to be 100% serious.

I love you show you guys are awesome together. Love the rib last week put the fun in funeral. I was wondering, Mick seems to be repeating some stories he told once or twice on the podcast already. Is he just trying to include people who did not hear the previous episode or does he not remember? Either way I love this I hope you guys keep this up it is great. When is the solo act coming to Cleveland?
@silverbullet94422 жыл бұрын
I've noticed this but I feel like he just thinks the stories are relevant again and he goes ahead and repeats them. Mick seems fully coherent to me but he's almost too good of a story teller that he goes on and on and one story leads to another and that's why some stories repeat. It's a string of continuous stories.

Man ! I remember like it was yesterday . I had basically given up on my once complete passion of my life since 85 , pro wrestling . in the mid 90s . WWF sucked , Hogan and friends ruined WCW . But out of habit I picked up a wrestling mag that introduced me to ECW ! It looked like the wrestling i wanted to see !! I immediately ordered 2 VHS tapes and one had this match on it ! I WAS HOOKED !! Also had Sandman being blinded by Tommy Cairo and TONS more ! ECW brought my wrestling passion back to life !!!

I love the show and Mick is one of my favourite people on the planet. But I think this episode was weaker than the high bar set by previous episodes. I’m not sure why nearly 30 minutes were spent on the ‘belt spit’ promo, as literally nothing gets unearthed or uncovered here that wasn’t already covered in Have a Nice Day. The story was ‘Mick spat on the belt, Flair didn’t like it, Mick apologised but wished Flair had actually bothered to watch the promo before being angry’. Where was the insight into the actual matches with Sabu?

Mick is right. Go to an all black church and even if you aren’t a believer, you WILL feel uplifted, touched, and emotional. It’s beautiful. I grew up in the church. My family built and owns the main church in my tiny hometown. My Aunt Lucy was the pastor for over 50 years (she died last year). I never felt anything but bored and shitty going to that church. Black folks know how to worship, celebrate, and so much more- way better than any white folks I’ve ever known. Family reunions are so fun, with everyone eating THE BEST food you’ll ever taste, and doing the electric slide to great music! It’s awesome. I miss it.

Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory said "I Put the fun in funeral, lets do this damn thing" or something similar like years ago in the middle seasons. Ive stole that line every time saying i want mine to be fun, Also "Family Guy" had an awesome clip for Peter Griffen's wish if he ever had a funeral(its on youtube look up Family Guy Peter Griffens Funeral), he's in the open casket and he has 2 fat hula dancers doin the dance with the Haiwain theme n tiny Mexican guitar, the sombreros, then everyone who attends sits and is eating a hot pretzel, when out of nowhere a clown comes by on like a little donkey n hits meg(his daughter) in the face with a pie, its great. Shit, Even (the comedian) Dane Cook said he wants his funeral to be fuckin awesome where his body comes down on strings and it turns into like a rave with house/edm music and his body goes up and down n swings into the crowd with the flickering lights to . Smh, its dope tho. That field has plenty, I know you said Paul Berrar was a real mortician, my sister works at the hospital and says they need people to be a part of doing something with the dead bodies (forensic style i guess) and I was like that could be a good way to get to meet some ppl. Remember Wedding Crashers at the end when "Chad AKA the guy who started crashing weddings to meet girls" (Played by Will Ferrell) was like "Yeah, I'll throw in a wedding now and then but funerals, omg they are the best... "The women are so horny its like fishing with dynamite, its not even fair... Death is natures purest aphrodisiac ". Anyways its been done a lot.

WWE has some good announcers who try to get the talent and stories over. AEW's announce team is awful. J.R. is there for the check. Schiavone is worthless and laughs at everything. Excalibur REALLY wants you to know how "smart" he is and always talks over your head about things only hardcore smart marks know. Taz buries everyone on the B-shows by joking around about everything. Say what you want about WWE's announcers, but their primary focus is always the characters and the stories because of how militant they've been managed in the past.
@iTubeYourDadsMinge2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you. For the record, I’m not an avid lover of current WWE but I just cannot last more than 10 minutes of AEW on TV and I’ve tried it multiple times. The announce team is a mix of rambling from Excalibur and JR’s current work is in danger of him having a tarnished legacy like Ric Flair. Meanwhile Tony Schiavone almost seems like a different person and is far from the guy we heard in WCW who made every moment seem important. Lastly AEW’s overall product seems hellbent on ‘smark humour’ and is just cringey to watch, especially with all of the constant flips and botches in the ring. Anybody who seriously thinks that AEW is currently ‘competing’ with WWE is utterly delusional.
