I had been debating with myself for years on whether or not to buy Judika Illes book, 5000 Spells. I finally did after watching your video and I'm so glad I took the plunge. I have her Encyclopedia of Magic book and love it as well. She is such a good writer and skilled researcher. These are the sort of books you buy and leave for the next generations so that they are not lost in time.

I've been listening to hours and hours of the New World Witchery podcast while at work for the past week or two, and I'm really enjoying it! When I discovered that you had a KZbin channel, I couldn't subscribe fast enough! I love the very grounded way that you (and Laine) approach your topics on the podcast. Your passion and interest in the topics you cover is infectious (in a good way, I promise!) and I look forward to spending many more hours listening to your podcast. I'm also using one of my Audible credits to purchase the Audible version of your book "New World Witchery". I was slightly disappointed to see that you didn't read it yourself, but after listening to the audio sample, I have to admit that Ramon De Ocampo sounds like a very pleasant second choice for the task! Also, if this KZbin channel is going to be more active now, I am totally HERE FOR IT! Keep up the good work! 👏😀

I am reading your book now Corey, and I hope that from henceforward your book makes it on every practitioners recommendation list of folk magic books. It's literally a trove. Says so in the title, eh 😆 Thank you for sharing this video, and keep on with the shameless plugs. You deserve allll the credit! Oh, and you're rocking that black polish 🖤🤘

I love this! I’ve been a listener to the podcast for a couple years now and adore the work you do. I just ordered a copy of New World Witchery as well as your book on reading playing cards! If I could make a guest suggestion, I’d LOVE to hear you have a conversation with Kristoffer Hughes... He’s a Welsh Druid (he’s the Head of the Anglesey order of Druids) so I get, on the face of things, it might not make a lot of sense since he’s not “New World” but his love of folklore and legend makes up so much of his spiritual path I think a conversation between the both of you would be brilliant! He’s written a handful of books that have been pretty pivotal for me so I adore him but he also has such a great sense of humor and love for the past that I think you two geeking out over folklore from both sides of the Pond would be a real delight!

Yes to more videos like this! Yes to a deeper dive into folklore and folk magic and any other books you value! Question for you: what’s your take on work from Starr Casas, Orion Foxwood, and other authors of southern conjure?

Lol!!! I love the shameless plugs! Thanks for taking the time to share other good jumping off books. I just picked your book up yesterday and am grateful to be able to hear your voice as I read it. I would also be interested in a video about intermediate books, even if I don’t ever get there (to intermediate status)! 😊 Hullo to Laine as well!! 👋

So glad you mentioned "The Cunning Man's Handbook", one of my favorites on the subject(and something I was thinking of before you mentioned it). Also if you've not had the opportunity I highly recommend Jake Richards "Doctoring The Devil" I think I'd go so far as to say I prefer it to "Backwoods Witchcraft".

Thanks so much. Big fan, loving your book so far! I love learning about folklore in North America. I would love to learn more about authors and content creators that focus on American folklore in the Pacific Northwest. Thanks for all that you do, looking forward to seeing more.

Cunningham also wrote a lot of books on Wicca. And the one strict rule Wicca has is "just so long as it harms none, do what you will" Similar to the Christian golden rule of do unto others as you would have them do to you. So curses to harm wouldn't be in Cunningham's books.
