Thank you for continuing to highlight the presence of syncretism in both traditional and contemporary witchcraft!

My favorite herb harvesting charm is "Pardon for my pluck, may you grow stronger with my stroke" for specifically when I'm pruning my perennial herbs. Great video! Thank you!

Alot of these charms are also used in Appalachian Folk Magick. Appalachian Folk Magick blends British, German, African, and Cherokee Traditions. We also use terms like Cunning Folk and Root Doctor. It's neat seeing the English Root of our tradition. :)

There's a reason my user name is Silver Tongue aside from being an inkheart reference. Cause words are magick to me

I think I would be too terrified to say the Lords prayer backwards

I translate the Lord’s Prayer backwards and that just works for me.

Ooh, I have one - Fortune rota volvitur: descendo minoratus; alter in altum tillitur; animus exaltatus. 'The wheel of fortune spins: one man is abased by it's descent; the other is carried aloft; all too exalted.'

Thank you for sharing! I think it's so fun to see how our practices change and evolve over time. I used to include more incantations. I'm starting to come back to it, but I have to work harder to memorize them than before. Do you generally memorize or read off the page? I do both depending on the circumstances.
@TheOakWitch2 жыл бұрын
I also do both depending on the situation, the spell. Some incantations are easier to memorise than others as well haha! I remember a lot of the Catholic hymns and prayers from childhood, which helps lol.

Enchantments are more than anything related to sounds, and how this affects our bodies (mental, physical, emotional and astral) and the matter around us, there are sounds that we hear and others that we don't.
