So I guess the lyrics are not the exact same in every language... At least the Greek version I know talks about about the singer's love with a charming girl, who (the girl) regects him.

The name "Finno-Ugric" itself was born on the German model in the German minds of Hunfalvy and Budenz. The Hungarian language is much older than the Uralic languages, its origins are obscure. By the way, don't forget that the Sumerian cuneiforms were deciphered based on the Székely-Hungarian runic script! Today, runic writing is once again taught in Hungarian schools. This song exists in every country on Balcan. The lyrics are different but the melody is pretty much the same everywhere. It exists in: Turkey, Greece, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia... It could very well be one of the most popular Eurasian tunes. In any case, it sounds good enough to deserve it. P.S. As one other comment here mentioned, Boney M's "Rasputin" also used it, so... ;)
