“My job is to show folks there’s a lot of good music in this world, and if used right it may help to save the planet.” - Pete Seeger. RIP, Pete...and thank you for making the world a better place! May we now all carry the music and its powerful message on for you.

R.I.P. To Pete Seeger. It’s almost been 6 years now, and I was so blessed to see him multiple times because of my grandpa. They were close friends. He did so much good for this world.

It's sad that so many of us have drifted so far away away. Let's get back to the pursuit of justice, citizenship, civility, harmony and idealism embodied for so may committed years by troubadour Pete!

I was in Rehab and my daughter asked me: if I knew who Pete Seeger is. I said of course…… I’ve been singing his songs for years. That how I found out that Pete entered into his rest. Waiting for the arrival of our Lord. John 5:28 (note on the last day) the first resurrection.

You want to know what's funny? It's only 2:50 AM central time in minnesota on January 28th 2014 and the server for the Pete Seeger appreciation page is busted.

Rest well. Pete (he would not want us to call him "Mr. Seeger,") and thank you.

as a curious note... he ssemed to love to sing Guantanamera , a cuban song based of the verses of Jose Marti, and he died in the birthday of Marti.

Seriously? Couldn't you have done your research before airing this piece? 5 decade long songbook? You can find youtube videos of him performing 64 years ago, and he had been performing for decades then. And I saw him on stage at the Clearwater Festival 7 months ago.

That probably says more about you than it does about him. A great peacelover who lived his life according to his beliefs - and a great folksinger.

Study his life and the world he grew up in. His style can annoy some people. He always appeared naive to me and hiding under an image of just being a liberal. But he makes sense if you know the full picture.
