I've seen David dozens of times since 1971..so many venues in and around NYC/NJ. I was at this show too. Solo, big band, w/Angel Band. He's a musician's musician. Thank God, he's still going strong.

+Bill McKain His band was incredible during these years. Today not so much. They can't play the fiddle tunes and without Firmin on Sax at the Big Band shows there's no personality in the rest of the band. I enjoy seeing him once a year but in the mid to late 70's until he called it quits in 1980 I went to every show I could.

mannysCW1 I saw him a couple years back and found the show to be repetitive, no new material. At a lull between songs I shouted out Sharon, which he plays at every show. "The quickest way to get me NOT to do a song is to yell out a request for it," David commented. "I know!," I replied. Got glared at...

Bromberg is at the top of many of my favorite music category performers. Blues, bluegrass, ragtime, acoustic, electric, jazz. I sure wish I could watch him live at least once before I die. I have most of his records and have listened to him since the late 70's.

I remember the 1st time I saw Sweet David and the band play. He was the lead in band for a Jim Croce show in Albany NY back in the 70s. I'd heard of him but never had listened to any of his music. My sister told me "You're gonna be blown away and love his music forever after." How right she was.

He's a great musician, story teller, entertainer. I love how he crosses all music genres … from rock, blues, bluegrass, Dixieland, a little country thrown in. Love the lyrics … even on old songs -- he makes the songs his own! He is one of a kind! His life story is one of inspiration. Everyone should look up his history. He has led a very diversified life! Gotta love him!

About 1977 the town of Hempstead, L.I. mobile stage pulled up in front of Nassau CC and he put on a free impromptu concert with the football team practicing in the background. Maybe 150 people at most were there. It was incredible!

Thanks for the complete show !!! 76 or 77 BOTH mind altering . Few musicians are able to cross so many types of music . It's labeled and sold as swing , country , appalachia folk , rock / jazz fusion , blues , country rock . Well , they weren't able the label him and I have every album of his I could find. All the years I got to be a roadie I never got to do a show for him. That was something that I missed . I still think about that. And all the places I lived , I never got to see him live , what a missed opportunity that was ! Maybe I experimented with too many psychedelics , but I tell you what folk's * that guitar talks , doesn't matter if it's acoustic or electric ... he's talking to you ... ! you can hear it ! ! ! .thanks again for this video .

All music since the beginning of time is an amalgamation of that which came before added to a new sound / recording's / written score / including use of new ways to incorporate old instruments & / or new instruments in old songs . I gave away 6,000. vinel records . 33 1/3 . LP 's . I listen to what I like . a varied genre of musical tastes spanning the 30s 40s 50s 60s 70s 80s 90s up until now. I had a friend that had a hundred thousand 98 speed records. some of the earliest rare recordings known. and I certainly wouldn't valify anybody's ethnic Heritage at this time in history. Because artists are only artists. As I am an artist in various venues and professions. NORMALIZATION OF IGNORANCE: okay let's get " atomic microscoped " into things . 1974 - 1984 I was a roadie .. I was introduced to Bob by Ms. Joan Baez at a concert I was a guest at. A little known recording over in Clearwater Florida. I also work personally with so many bands and groups loading in Equipment, backstage security, that I can't list them all here. I also remember being 2 years old listening to Big Band live radio waffling down the hallway when my mom propped me up on the couch as a baby AND too I knew the difference between Stan Kenton, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, and all of the big bands.. AND getting right down to it about African-American. I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in Kansas at 5 years old. My side of the tracks was indigenous Native Americans who were survivors of being slaughtered by good Christians, being denied the right to use their own religion and language no matter their tribal affiliation, being forced to accept a white God and a White Jesus which was a fallacy... as it is now we all know. Some people still seem to want to press their agenda on others. Moving along now to the segregated cities of West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York State, I was fortunate to have young friends of every ethnic group. , every religion, and I myself attended black churches in and around the inner city of Cleveland. so the gospel I heard in church was the Gospel that Elvis Presley sang with , Little Richard Bangin the piano and standing was the Gospel I heard in the churches , I believe he's black , the swing recording and the lilt that I heard from Buddy Holly was part of the country root that I heard growing up in Oklahoma before moving to Kansas. look up "Spade Cooley " Asleep At The Wheel . Chet Atkins . Florida's Gamble Rogers. AND if you want to explain music being borrowed from African-American. Look up the Godmother of Rock and Roll by looking up Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Getting down into the Dynamics of atomic microscopes.. I doubt if you were with me when I was four and I killed myself electricity because I was being raped everyday by a gang of boys and couldn't explain to my parents. Trying to kill them with butcher knives and even looking for my father's Navy revolver from World War II. how does a child at three and a half for four and a half years old know to find a revolver and kill another kid who's 12 or 13 years old molesting him. A sad State of Affairs that one is. OF course putting the fork bent in the 110 socket in the garage and being blown across the room and dying for 15 to 20 minutes while my mother tried to slap me Awake. My Soul not my body traveled through the universe. And I am at what we call god. , she was a beautiful orb of lavender rose color and pink and the thought process was ; why did I come , what did I do , where do I want to be. ..go back. as she was leaving a Consciousness not known by most ; entering through her became the male other half of god , he was red and deep gold and filled up my Consciousness also , saying the same things and asking the same questions , why did I do that. What was I thinking. Where did I want to be . Go back... falling through the Earth Sun and through the Stars* I entered my physical body again. Drowned in the Ohio River on the West Virginia side at 7 with one of my best buddies. They got me out and revive me ; I was under for 20 minutes.. same situation. being in the color presences of god = female/ male duality ... It took two weeks for them to find his body in the river Downstream. One of my aunts made me go to his funeral. I walked up and looked in the casket and said to my aunt he's no longer in there that's just a shell. Drowned at a 7 in public pool was on the bottom for 15 to 25 minutes. Same scenario crossover and was preveliged to meet The Duality of god= the feminine always comes first the masculine later. In my professional life I was an elevator foreman and so on two separate jobs 26 stories 32 stories up I was hit by lightning. Nothing wrong with me. total for other trucks and ice and snow in the mountains of Colorado years later. Have a friend driving in the country side a truck flipped over on top of us , was bruised is all. Fell two stories down on two different buildings and was blown back in nothing but bruises. I noticed you had to use GD. and you're correct I only see what you've posted so I know nothing of your illustrious professional life. I still find it sad that you have to call an artist by ethnic tag. and you seem to need to go postal on someone so if there is any more critique of my personality that you take offense to go right ahead I love it. And yes I am I sensitive spiritual being I'm not a dogmatic mindless human . Snarling and barking and going rabid at the first little Pavlov experiment dog Bell going off. In 1981 (or so) I saw David with Arlo Guthrie and John Sebastian. I loved the concert. It was unbelievable. What an evening. My girlfriend at the time, now my wife of 42 years, told me NEVER to bring her to a concert like that again. Oil and water can stay together! 😅

What is called "Medley Of Irish Fiddle Tunes" is in fact called "Yankees Revenge." In some performances it would be prefaced by a brief a capella chant - I forget the words - but they are four lines that would have been sung by Irish soldiers in the Union Army about their contribution - I think the first line might have been "If not for the Irish what would your Union have done?"
