The most amazing thing about this vid is that your dad is 90! Holy cow! I hope to be just as fit when I'm his age. Good stuff! I'm going tuna fishing for the first time this summer, and I'm gonna try to process the fish myself to save some $$$. We'll see how it goes. I've heard that it can be a physically demanding and time-consuming process. Thanks for the vid!

it takes hours because our household vacuum packer only does one bag at a time, but it can be done.
@random1883Ай бұрын
If you get one over 100 pounds, I'd recommend you get it processed by the professionals.

Fisherman’s processing is the best!! Some boats are contracted with them. I’ve gone to them for 4-5 years and their options/flexibility is unbeatable!

I sure enjoyed meeting them and their processing procedure is on point

@@cousinjim1 wow I see you caught a bigger fish on this trip, congrats Cousin Jim. Can you or do you remember the size of the Penn fathom reel that the drag blew up after he fought the fish for a hour and a half? That really would suck , but that’s fishing. Great video Jim and keep on bringing us the bloody deck and Tight Lines!

@@cousinjim1 I asked because I have the Penn fathom 30 and that is the reel I caught my 140 pounder on. I also have the Penn fathom 40 2nd generation and the Penn fathom 60 all two speeds but I like my speed master 16,20 and 25. Either way you look at it I’m ready

Do you need to reserve fish processing in advance? What if i don't have fish, do they charge?
@shaundm78Ай бұрын
Great video! Do you need to make an appointment with them before your trip? Or were they there when you pulled on to the dock?
@cousinjim1Ай бұрын
if the trip gets in early in the morning there are 3 processors waiting if later in the day you have to take them to them this trip we were 6 hours late but the captain called and asked them to meet us at the dock so I did not have to take my fish to them

Very cool. Comparing to how BF are cut up in Japan, with large extremely sharp knives, I’m surprised how small the knives are thet they use. Oh, and what do you do with all thst meat?
