Painted my garage floor with Drylok concrete floor paint over a year ago and this is what it looks like now after a fair amount of normal garage floor abuse.

Thank you for the follow up. I think I prefer this simple gray paint to the fancy, shiny glittery epoxy that costs a fortune.

Thanks for the great video.I just had a new garage built that is 30x34 and have done a ton of research on floor coatings.After lots of consideration and help from your video,I've decided to use the Drylok E 1. My logic is that it will probably chip sometime and with this type of paint you can at least touch it up if needed. You can't just have some left over epoxy paint around to touch up with. I just ordered 4 gallons from a local store but I may need more according to your application. We will see how it goes. Thanks again this video really helped me.

Glad you mentioned the oily floor prior to painting. My basement has oil Stains from the old oil furnace. Sounds like it shouldn’t be a problem if there is some leftover residue when I paint. Thanks!!

Hey man - thanks for the vids. I'm going to do the floor in my basement utility room. Everyone was telling me I had to etch, prime, epoxy, prep, seal, etc. etc - the hell with all that. I'm taking your advice and going with the DryLok. If you used it in your garage, I'm sure it will be more than fine for my basement utility room.. And it seems a whole lot quicker and simpler than all the other methods I've been looking into.Thanks for showing me the light.

Michael, adding my thanks for these two drylok videos, very informational I'm tacking my cousins basement floor this weekend. I had to lol when you said your pre-painted garage floor was in 'bad condition - oh if you could see what her basement floor looks like! One question should you see this ... what is the 'odor' level of this paint ... in terms of how potent it was and how long it took to dissipate? Thanks again! *PS you must get killer gas mileage in that red/yellow car - but youre a big guy looks like not much headroom* ! (;

The oder level is pretty low. I did not find it to be overwhelming at all. But still make sure you have some kind of ventilation like a window open or a fan going.

Drylok's website indicates that it needs to cure for a period of 5 days before parking a vehicle. Did you have to wait that long, too?
@MrMikepaul82 жыл бұрын
Yes I gave it the 5 days before I parked a car on it

MrKfq269 came in a few different colors. Not sure how many but I used the white Drylok on my basement walls. Came out nice

Michael Paul ok so I’m a serious rookie with any of this so your knowledge is much appreciated. I’m using white on my basement floor and putting Behr wet look on top of it for a shiny wet look. It’s my craft room. Do you foresee any problems with this decision?

You could've cover those cracks and dip with some cement prior to painting the garage floor.

I am thinking the same thing because I do the maintenance on our vehicles, I use Jack stands and I'm afraid the Jack stands will dig into the epoxy floor? And The use of a floor Jack, with steel wheels I don't think apoxy will hold up? And it is many times more expensive.. Thank you for the video I saw your Jack stands and I am sold....
