Every Professional Artist does that, as to not steal the Spotlight. Childers is good at what he does, but, he is far far far from out doing Chris Stapleton. It was nice for Chris to take the stage with Childers. It gives Tyler more recognition. If Tyler stays as true to his heart and music as Chris is, he may reach Chris's level at some point in his life, it just isn't there yet.
@matthewharper69002 жыл бұрын
Chris has to be respectful of Tyler adding his voice into his song, I’d say the exact opposite happened, and Chris refrained from having too much input because his voice would totally steal the show.

Now imagine you’re 22 years old with a truck full of your buddies, drunk after the funeral of your best friend, it’s it’s 1am and you’re tearing down 23 headed to Virgie for no good reason but you’re all screaming this song at the top of your lungs the whole way there. Thanks for posting this Ethan. Growing up our neighbor was like another grandmother to me. She was always my biggest fan with whatever I did. I can still hear her voice "Oh Michael, that is WONDERFUL" She was such a cultured woman, lived in Manhattan for years and worked at the Museum of Natural History and traveled all over. She taught me how to do the NY Times crossword puzzle, which she did everyday until she passed. I remember telling her about a trip to Europe I was going on and she was so exited for me because of all the wonderous things I would see outside of our small town. I never did get to show her the pictures. I live far away now and wasn't home when she passed. Her family didn't do any type of service for her, which was such a shame. She deserved more after the life she lived. This song always makes me think of her and helps me remember her. She was my Virgie. Thanks for writing this Tyler about the wonderful woman in your life and for all of us men that have been fortunate to have wonderful women in our own lives.

@johnwilcox30132 жыл бұрын
In as much as I agree with you that it is a powerful performance, I feel that Tyler writes his songs from within himself, about the things that touch him inside . Both of these incredibly talented men write their music about the things that move them throughout the course of life, and certainly the passing of a beloved family member of a cherished friend would be an inspiration to write a song that conveys the sorrow and support one might feel for that friend. I grew up in a musical family, and my grandfather said to me many times through the years that ,to be able to perform a song in way that forces the people you are performing for, to feel what you feel, to, in effect, include them in the performance in a manner that let's them believe you are singing to each and everyone of them personally. It is a very spiritual, and even to some extent, physically powerful sensation. Both Tyler and Chris have what I like to describe as true God given talent, a blessing that let's them touch your heart deep down inside, and they do that to you almost effortlessly on their part, however I doubt very seriously that either of them are aware of the impact it has on those of us at the receiving end when they write them. I'm sure they realize it when they see their fans shedding tears in every row as far back they can see.
