I first saw my first Alfa whilst watching racing at Warwick Farm Circuit in Sydney a works GTAM imported by the sole Sydney dealer Alec Mildred. I had just got my license in 1965 and it was love at first sight. So fast from such a small engine and the engine note. A mate bought a 1.6 Berlina from his sister’s boyfriend who was restoring it when he bought a Dino - unbelievable. My first time I had a drive meant that when he couldn’t afford the servicing and offered it to me in 1975 I jumped at it. I had owned a couple of Mini Cooper Ss and hillclimbed and lap dashed one when they were considered really fast so an Alfa was a whole new world. But after having it resprayed having been assured the rust had all been cut out rust appeared. I spotted an Alfetta 1.7 in dealer’s yard and traded up. It was a delight and I owned it in 1981 when I met my wife to be. My mother died suddenly and in 1985 I used some of my inheritance to buy a new Giulietta 2.0 as the Alfetta had a spot of rust and no air conditioning and we had a baby on the way. I picked our new daughter in a brand new Alfa and thanks to a terrific mechanic kept it for 24 years. My wife learned to drive in it, despite no power steering or ABS and the gearbox in the rear as part of the transaxle. But Ill health and our daughter learning to drive in an automatic we sadly had to put the Giulietta up for sale and it’s no more. I considered a Giulia Veloce and even spoke to my old Mechanic who was very supportive but was diagnosed with serious Prostate cancer and am recovering from the radiation therapy. Not able to drive so your video brought me such joy and hope, thank you from an aged previous Alfa owner of 34 odd continuous years ownership.

Looking back at the diffuser of the Giulia QV as you walk away from it - you're filled with pride that you followed your heart to pick it over the C63 or M3. Especially if this is the last great pure petrol powered RWD Alfa..

What a great life lesson... I'm with you all the way! Your video showed up in my notifications as I'm seriously considering selling my "regular" Giulia Ti for a young second hand Quadrifoglio and have been watching numerous videos on this beauty. I test drove a Q in Misano Blue a few days ago and the experience was just absolutely great and everything I hoped for... She's a calm beauty when cruising in town but when you rev it up to enter the motorway... Oh man... Then the beast comes out and I get a smile from ear to ear. As you said in your video: this car can be a daily driver... I personally see no compromises. Your video just convinced me to just go ahead and do the swap. As you said - and I'll remember this one for the rest of my life - life is not a rehearsal. I really loved your video man... Thanks!

A very good video with a lot of life lessons in it (and a terrific car too). I remember in my school ‘careers’ class (think I was 16) the teacher asked us what our ‘goals’ were. I couldn’t think of an answer….I didn’t even like football 😂 I honestly had no idea what he was talking about. Long story short I left at 17 and I’ve done alright for myself. I have a Maserati Quattroporte and a H2 supercharged Kawasaki plus a Suzuki Hayabusa turbo for when I want the fun of doing bigger speeds. As you say life is not a rehearsal, you might as well enjoy the journey on the way through 👍

Totally agree. As they say you’ve only got one opportunity to enjoy life. The QV expresses that desire more than any other car I’ve owned. Multiple Porsches, BMWs and Audis. Although I loved my Audi S2 Quattro and BMW 840 CSi Sport ‘back in the day’. 😉

@@vasekp7305 let me tell you, I bought a band new 2023 BMW M2 - yes it was fast, and build quality was very good, but it was BORING and detached to drive, and mine was even manual, not to mention ugly. I sold it after 3 months ownership and then got my Quadrifoglio. Couldn’t be happier. The Quad is so much fun to drive, looks stunning, I get compliments from strangers all the time and have had no reliability issues whatsoever, and I drive it like I stole it (just keep up with maintenance, use the correct engine oil, warm it up well before you flog it). The Giulia is alive, it has personality, it talks to you. YOLO!! you only live once.

I bought a giulia q.v. last month and now that it’s starting to get colder I notice on cold starts. It has a ticking noise that will eventually go away with some driving. I’m bringing the car in to the dealer under warranty to have them look at it, but that’s not for a few days. Is this a normal noise?
@Back_Road_Hero2 ай бұрын
Worth getting it checked out. There are some noisy cars out there if they’ve been sat for a while but as long as it clears then I shows that there’s no serious damage. However long term wear might raise it’s ugly head… Ed

@ sweet thanks for you input. I do daily drive the car but it’s only about 10 miles a day. It does it on some start ups and then some are fine but definitely gonna get it checked out. Had mine ordered in May and was just told over the weekend delivery is likely to be on 20th Nov. Can't wait to put down 520cv on Singapore roads, even most have asked me, "isn't that too much to be useable here?"

The thing is that ALL of the horsepower is accessible. It shouldn’t be, but it is. Rarely does the traction control cut in. Obviously in the wet, but in the dry it’s all there. Restricted in modes outside of RACE mode in the first two gears but you’d never really notice. Ed
