Wow!!! How much it has changed. I did the Annapurna circle in 1981. In those days the hike started in Pokara all the way to Muktinat across the pass and all the way back on the other side. 30 days of pure delight.
@miivii2 жыл бұрын
It must be pure adventure in those days. Golden time for Himalaya climbing and trekking. Ma father was there (far far West region) and me two times 1999 & 2005. Turism in high peak but I was lucky to cought last days of full walk from Besisahar to Pokhara.

If you walk the path over the footbridge at Besishahar, there is a beautiful trail far from the dust and you will find delightful villages along the way. You’ll be in Jagat in no time. No need for Jeeps! This is true for the entire circuit back to Nayapool.

Many would recommend the upper route instead of Lower-Pisang: Upper-Pisang -- Ghyaru -- Ngawal and then Manang (or stopping in Bhraka to go to the Ice-Lake). Upper-Pisang is pretty much at the same altitude as Manang so no need for a longer acclimatization in crowded Manang as usually recommended. Then from Manang starts the real adventure 😎

Hey There is no specific age limit for the Annapurna Circuit, but it is a challenging trek that requires a good level of fitness and endurance. It may not be suitable for all children between the ages of 10-15. We recommend reaching out to travel@followalice.com to discuss the specifics of the trip and whether it would be appropriate for your kids! Hope that helps

Great video! Really gave a good insight into what you are going to go through. How much training did you undergo before this trip? In how good shape should one be to be able to handle the hiking?
@FollowAlice2 жыл бұрын
Hi Malthe, thanks so much! Yes you should be in decent shape before undertaking the Annapurna Circuit. That said it is not a technical climb and does not require any prior experience or use of special equipment. Most importantly you should be capable of walking 6-8 hours per day. In terms of training, beginning a training regime 2-3 months before is recommended. I have shared with you a blog article that we created that details the specifics: followalice.com/knowledge/how-should-i-train-for-the-everest-base-camp-trek I really hope this helped and please reach out if we can assist you in any ways! Are you interested in organising a trek? We have group departures running throughout the year if you would like to join one:-) Our team would be more than happy to chat with you if you like! Hi, what type of shoes do you recommend for a 20 day hike in Anapurna?
@FollowAlice2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra! You will need a pair of high quality, durable hiking boots. A few notes: Boots and NOT shoes (to offer crucial ankle support) and with ample water resistance. I personally have a pair of Scarpa hiking boots when I trekked in Nepal. Other brands like Salomon and Merrell are also highly regarded in the trekking community. My biggest piece of advice would be to choose the boot that feels best ON YOU. Go to the store and try as many on as possible and compare. It needs to fit right and feel comfortable! This is key. I hope this helps. Our blog is a great online resource for anything Annapurna related: followalice.com/knowledge/category/annapurna-circuit Also feel free to check out our itineraries if you haven't booked the trip yet:- ) followalice.com/adventure-trips/annapurna-circuit

Hello thank you.. I'm interested in this Trek as I'll be doing the EBC later this year... Can I ask another video says its mainly for a jeep road running through most of this... Is this true....
@FollowAlice2 жыл бұрын
Hi - they have constructed new roads in the earlier sections of the trail. So many trekkers choose to begin a little further along than before. But there is still a large middle section that is totally unspoilt. You can trek for 1-2 weeks without seeing a single car. So it is still very beautiful! Some foreigners are understandably sad about the construction of these new roads, but we must understand that they bring greater connectivity and prosperity to the local people in this region. I hope this helps! Feel free to ask any further questions if you have any! And to make you aware, we offer guided, organised treks to Annapurna Circuit and EBC trek! So if you were looking for an operator, feel free to check out our website: followalice.com/adventure-trips/annapurna-circuit
