There are a lot of hikers and climbers on youtube who make great videos, but there are very very few who make such high quality films. I just love your filmmaking skills. You're just incredible. You capture everything so beautifully and in just the right amounts. The people, the animals, the culture, the work they do such as farming, the people in your group, food, beverages. It's the whole story. It's such a joy to sit back and watch and be treated with such amazing shots. What a beautiful place too, I love the flags and ribbons, all the animals, and children. As always, looking forward to the next one, Kraig!!!

I am grateful that this video is out there, because it massively helps my recollection of a trip through a stunning part of the world that I trekked through a short while beforehand. The segmentation showing whereabouts in the circuit you are at helped clarify my memories. I could have sworn that the 'alluvial plane' was after Deng... but who knew!? 😆 The video quality is also superb, re-capturing my memories of that super-real light that only exists at higher elevations. I went there as part of a group of widely mixed ages. We spent most evenings having a laugh, a few drinks (Ghurka & Mustang beer 8%!), and joking / winding each other up. The group on this video seems a little insipid by comparison, though perhaps healthier: sipping tea, playing chess... With the possible exception of 'big stick' guy, who seems good fun (and deserves an award for carrying that timber!). Anyway, after the pass Kraig proceeds to jog downhill through the forest as though 'the physical task' is complete! Yet in my experience, that part of the trail was the most visually impressive, and sadly that beauty seems lost on him. Their group got on a vehicle shortly thereafter to go home, whereas in my trip (Exodus) - we avoided the dusty road to trek in forest trails for 3 days more, and the scenery was magnificent! We also had a great 'end of adventure' party on a hilltop with another (French) group until late - something I can't imagine the tea-sipping dullards of this video doing. ☹ p.s. Manaslu Circuit is a £4k+ adventure for the typical European traveller. This is aspirational for many people, especially in the current economic climate. The inference by the narrator (person who spoke at the end, but had nothing interesting to say) that much of this trip was paid for by sponsors seems a little tone-deaf. p.p.s If I had watched only this video beforehand I would not have been swayed to invest so much in a trip to Nepal, but fortunately, I had watched another video, that is shorter and more amateur, but far more engaging: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onraYZ-Nm5ihd5Y 👌

@@AWDOUTDOOR Hi there AWD! I already watched your vid when I was preparing for my trip! Loved the fact that you took the dogs! Those landslides are still impressive (especially the one just before - and the one right after Lokpa). To be honest I preferred Tsum over Manaslu. It was far less crowded and more authentic. Villages are proper villages and not mere Guesthouse settlements. I love the Tibetan way and culture. We did not go to Serang Gompa but did go to Mu Gompa, Gonhgy Gompa (just above Chhule) Rachen Gompa, Gumba Lungdang, Pungyen Gompa and more directly on the trails. Luckily our guide has been in a monastery for > 10 years, so he could explain all sorts! You should return and do this one. Himal Ganesh BC & Manaslu BC make fun day hikes and you'll acclimatize for the Pass! Have fun, I'll rewatch your vid :) Tashi Delek

What a blockbuster! Such a beautiful landscape! Small suggestion: I would love to see in those intro shots if you underlay subtile sound effects for drone shots that are closer to the ground and show something where you expect sounds. E.g. 0:13 river sounds, 0:33 sounds of flags in the wind or 0:53 again river sounds. Best would of course be if you naturally record them in place. This would make the intro alive and take your intro shots to another level :)

I do agree for PungGyen Gonpa. If you walk a little bit more than Lho, you can stay at Shyala for the night. Impressive sunrise over the Manaslu from Shyala, then hike to PungGyen Gonpa as a side trek on route to Sama. By leaving early from Shyala, you can arrive at Sama for a not too late lunch. A good acclimatation before Manaslu Base Camp. By arranging you own group (minimum 2 trekkers for the Restricted Area Permit), you can customize your trekking plan. Possible to stay at out-of-the-beaten-tracks villages, except for Sama / Samdo / Larkya Phedi / Bimthang.

@@kraigadams Well, it was intended as more of a suggestion than a complaint. It doesn't fit well with the types of videos you create, and I don't remember the ads being so intrusive in your videos in the past. But it is nice to have confirmation that it IS a ploy to drive viewers to the more profitable revenue stream. Have fun with that. I'll spend my time watching content that doesn't exist solely to maximize profitability.
