THIS is what modern multiplayer games lack - Two people genuinely giving advice on strategy DURING THE ACTUAL GAME and respecting the path towards victory as a learning curve, while staying fun orientated. Modern gaming needs more of this level of community connection ❤

I think you never see a bm wc3 player. Just meet one this morning, swearing about the ud race while playing NE because he can't beat my pit lord necro with 2 bears and 4 dryad. And I was in a mordern game's match, Dota 2 where we argue hard in the beginning then we seatle it down and actually win the game by recommending strat to each others It's just if you don't see it doesn't mean it's not there. Just let you know 😊

Idk if Grubby even reads these but I have a fun fact about the players being habitual discussion. I used to coach a female handball team and to help our goalie we would analyze where their 7m shooter throws and they usually always follow a pattern for the first few throws like top left, bottom left, top right. Sometimes players may want to change things and shoot in a different direction but that is not so easy because the funny thing is even if you think you are doing something different you will always default the only way to change it is to have your past few games very very present in your head and remember exactly where you shot which is mostly a waste of time and mental capacity. You can see this in other things however such as chess where players will literally remember games from decades ago and thus they can consciously change or repeat their pattern.

I was thinking upgrading in the correct order as soon as you have the resource and microing a bunch of different units either in fights or just to scout and creep is already enough of a mental tax for most people. I think it's obvious why the top 0.1% adapt their own strategies to be less predictable and everyone else doesn't. It isn't because people want to do the same thing always, but the only way they can play a good micro game while producing is to make their micro and upgrades automatic muscle memory, and the only way to do that in any reasonable timeframe is by doing it with the same build path and heroes. Of course if you've been playing the game for decades or intend to then you can slowly develop a more rounded skillset which will transfer over to every race and build, but for people looking to get into the game or that don't want to commit too much time to it, one playstyle is necessary. "Comfort" or "habit" are words you could use to describe it, but I don't think they exactly fit. The only description that fits is something like "necessary muscle memory proficiency" but that's a bit of a mouthful.

I haven't played in years but if I recall correctly you have to press the move command ("M") then right click on the unit - it can be good to spam it to make it more efficient.

I think you'd be pretty good at speedrunning and enjoy it if you've never tried it. Similiar skills and preferences are needed that you display, like adaptable muscle memory and consistent play. Would be pretty hype for viewers to watch you speedrun an old (or new) game that you like too. Can be really exciting after you set your first personal best and you've got the timer up racing to see if you can beat it.
